This assuming they beat UCLA next week which while it should be, is not a given. I've seen stranger things happen, but at the time time, I wouldn't hold my breath. The weird thing about the BCS is that Wisconsin looks as if they will finish somewhere around #5, yet not be eligible for a BCS Bowl. Lastly, I do not want to see a rematch of Michigan and Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl. I wish they could match up Michigan and Florida (assuming UF beats Ark.), but that will never happen. The guy has absolutely every tool an NFL team would want for its QB. His effort tonight just turned on scouts even more. It was obvious to everyone he was in pain while throwing and still led his team out there. I can agree about the pro prospects, but I'd much rather have Smith this year. Most experts/Heisman voters seem to be leaning that way too. He's putting up comparable numbers despite attempting far fewer passes (around 10 fewer per game). Smith is also a bigger running threat and also played better in big games (177.7 rating against Texas and 162.3 against Michigan, as opposed to 99.08 against Michigan and 118.97 against USC for Brady). Drops played a factor tonight, but several of his big plays also came from his receivers coming down with jump balls/great catches. That evens it out a bit. I think you can kind of compare them to the 2002 OSU team that won the title over a far superior Miami team. They both got by with solid defense and just enough plays on offense. I heard Houston Nutt on ESPN Radio this morning, he said it was 50/50 on him starting Mustain next Saturday. If he does, they have a shot. Otherwise, McFadden better rush for 250. While they were doing it mostly with the running game, I don't recall him playing poorly enough to be benched. I was thinking the same thing Friday. If Dick was so bad, why not bring in Mustain. If everything holds form next week, we will likely see the following lineup: Championship Game - USC vs. Ohio State -- speed, speed, speed! Rose Bowl - LSU vs. Michigan -- great matchup. Lots of playmakers on the field. Always love a Big Ten-SEC game. Sugar Bowl - Notre Dame vs. Florida -- Personally I like it. I don't think Florida is that good and I think the Irish will compete here. Orange Bowl - Louisville vs. Wake Forest -- could just as easly be Rutgers vs. Ga Tech, but think about how many points will be scored if this matchup comes to fruition. It could be like the Louisville-Boise St. game last year. Fiesta Bowl - Boise St vs. Oklahoma -- classic matchup of offense vs defense, of little guy against big guy.
