chimpy2121
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) Best part of the game tonite was the band. They played songs from animated shows. They started out with the Simpsons theme song, which was nice. Next up, the Family Guy theme song, which was nicer. Then, two songs from South Park: "Blame Canada" and "What Would Brian Boitano Do?" Not only is it cool seeing thousands of drunken fans sing "What Would Brian Boitano do??", but I think we have a new theme song. "So what would Brian Boitano do If he were here today, I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two, That's what Brian Boitano'd do." I love the fact that I just heard that song 2 minutes ago on Comedy Central. I knew that movie was on tonite, and I was like Jim Breuer on "Half Baked" after mentioing Funyons. yeahhhhhhhhh
Rowand44
QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) Iowa got OWNED!!! OSU is THE best team in the country hands down. I agree that OSU is the best team in the country but Iowa blows.
danman31
Mizzou beat Colorado 28-13 today to move to 5-0 for the first time in a while. The Tigers are slowly gaining more exposure and respect. Next week they visit Texas Tech in what will be by far their biggest test of the year.
SnB
wow, did i really predict something right? QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Sep 30, 2006 -> 07:29 AM) Big game tonight. Like I said over on the BigTen board I really dont think this will be a close game. I think OSU will win big. I also dont think Tate finishes the game. He is not close to 100 percent and hasnt even been practicing as much as he usually does. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 30, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) i agree with you. Iowa definitely didn't look good against us last week and they haven't really had a n impressive game this season. wtf is going on?
whitesoxfan101
Well, Garrett Wolfe has over 1100 yards in 5 games, is on pace to break Barry Sanders record for rushing yards, and could realistically rush for 3,000 yards if we make the MACC and a bowl, thus playing 14 games. Yeah, he's pretty good, just glad we got a road win though. And I predicted that Illini win btw, you could see some progress this year, plus MSU sucks. It's a shame that he won't come close to winning the Heisman. It sucks, he's one of the top RBs, but won't get many looks because he plays against Ball State and Indiana State. What the critics don't understand is he tore it up at OSU too.

He'll never win, but if he tears up Iowa and approaches Barry Sanders record or breaks it, he'll get invited to New York. And I have no reason to think that won't happen. whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Not a good weekend for Iowa fans, sorry Jason. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2606247 I'm shocked the Iowa basketball program is having problems, after all, their coach is harsh enough to wait for a player to rape TWO different women before kicking him off the team. Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 1, 2006 -> 11:43 AM) Not a good weekend for Iowa fans, sorry Jason. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2606247 f***. Both are gonna play huge roles for the Hawks this season. I know the staff is insanely high on Tyler Smith (part of a pretty good Iowa recruiting class). Not that I'm shocked about the fb team losing, but this type of stuff always surprises me since our real only major problem has been that prick Pierre Pierce and Alfords mishandling of that whole fiasco. Yeah, Iowa didnt really stand much of a chance, Drew Tate continues to be one of the largest hothead QB's in college football. Rattle him once, and the game is ova! GaelicSoxFan
The way Musberger, Herbstreit and Davie were talking last night, you would've thought that Ohio State already has the national championship in the bag. Frankly, I'm not suprised. Musberger hates Iowa and I knew Herbstreit was gonna be a homer for his alma mater. OSU was fattening up their Heisman stats, yet they said nothing. OTOH, if the roles had been reversed, they would've been whining about Iowa running up the score. Drew Tate didn't help though, thinking he's Brett Favre. Heads22
I thought Musburger was siding with Iowa, but that's two differentt persepctives. But hey, my team beat Northern Iowa by one, so I'll go chew on that.

Iowa would be a lot better if they had the Tate of last year playing but right now you can just tell he's not 100% and its really effecting him. Frankly, I'm not suprised. Musberger hates Iowa and I knew Herbstreit was gonna be a homer for his alma mater. lol. when you look at ohio state's remaining schedule you can see why people are confident they are going to the national title game. imo, you can pretty much mark them down for the national title game or the rose bowl at this point. they WILL be 11-0 heading into the finale against meatchicken. that should be a great game. as for herbstreit being a homer, i don't agree at all. he's highly critical of ohio state when he needs to be. THEWOOD
Herbie does not side with OSU ever. I feel he goes out of his way to do this. Would love to know how OSU was running up the score. Maybe if Tate wasnt throwing a bunch of picks, OSU wouldnt of kept pouring it on the pathetic Iowa defense.

IN fact it annoyed me that they kept talking about how unreal the atmosphere was in Iowa City, saying that the Bucks were going to have a hard time with the "hostile crowd." Apparently these guys forgot that we went down to Austin for a #1 vs #2 showdown weeks ago.
Nokona
Wait...Iowa blows? Did we play terrible the last 7 minutes of the game? Yes. However don't forget before Chandler's fumble we had plenty of time and we're driving... Don't forget we scored more points than Texas and PSU combined. Don't forget that Ted Ginn Jr was shut down. If it wasn't for our lack of depth at corner and the fact that Miguel Merrick wasn't starting at SS (you know where they ran the ball at our true freshman starting his first game in the biggest sporting event in Iowahistory) things could have been very different. 38-17 does not dictate the reality of this game.
