He's pretty much made a living feasting off catchers and pitchers, he'd K the first guy he faces in an inning, walk the next 3 then strikeout the catcher and pitcher to end the inning. He's the perfect NL pitcher when healthy.

He just needs to learn how to foul off tough pitches like that. Someone like Gload does a great job at that.

protect is a good choice of words there. pods is playin better last few games but this remains a problem for him.
