Rowand44
Unfreakinbelievable. That game was just absolutely humungous to come back and win. Thank you Paul and thank you JD. W0000000000000T
BigSqwert
Huge win. We really needed this one.
whitesoxfan101
Paulie's homer saved the game, JD the MVP's single won the game, and this one might have saved the season. HUGE win....if somebody would steal Mack's glove this would be a perfect night.

whitesoxfan101
Jenks hasn't been good in those coming in during the inning spots, for him to step up and keep it a 1 run game was maybe bigger than the 2 doughnuts he tossed up after that. It is only 1 game, but in a stretch this tough, it can be HUGE, hopefully this builds momentum.
Wedge
and Boston loses, too. Awesome!
WSoxMatt
As much as we hated to see Cotts hit Giambi, he did hold it right there with the DP ball from Posada
Felix
No love goes out to Ozzie, even though he did a fine job managing the bullpen late in that game (I believe at least).
Baines3
This was a nice come back win. As usual Konerko came through in the clutch with his home run the 9th. Bobby pitched fabulous when it counted.

He did manage it right. But it helps when the guys perform.

But when the guys don't perform, the blame is put on Ozzie, so when they do perform, he might as well get props.
El Barto
This game reminded me of last years postseason. A good tight game where the sox get some clutch hits. Props to Garcia for keeping us in the game at least. Maybe it's due to low expectations but I am pretty pleased with this game sans the gaffe in the first inning. Point taken although I did not like how he managed the bottom of the 9th.

Probably because he witnessed a man named Joe Torre do it how it's supposed to be done.

That's fine, he can still be bashed for having Mack in center so that fills the quota.
South Side Fireworks Man
Great win! Now can we end the Mackowiak in CF experiment??? Please, Ozzie????? I love Mackowiak--he hustles, hits fairly well, and can play many positions. But he should never start in CF unless Anderson is hurt. fathom
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:00 AM) We do have Ruben Rivera in the system. Superb comment! QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:06 AM) No love goes out to Ozzie, even though he did a fine job managing the bullpen late in that game (I believe at least). I said it in the game thread that I really thought he did a good job bringing in Jenks in the 9th with a guy at 3rd. I've criticized him for not showing a sense of urgency when we're trailing, but he did show that proactivity tonight.
