nitetrain8601
Damn. He did get squeezed, but it also sucks the air out of us. Our offense has to come up with a big inning.
fathom
STOP THROWING THE CHANGEUP GARLAND! P.S.- feel free to get ejected anytime you want Ozzie. It can't do anything but energize this team.
BigSqwert
Must we hear this every night by Hawk? Johnson has hung a few over the plate and we haven't capitalized. The Yanks have.
Felix
I would say something about how Garland is getting his name in the Cy Young race, but it would hurt too much.
fathom
Couldn't we have traded 4 crappy prospects for Abreu? QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 01:32 AM) Must we hear this every night by Hawk? Johnson has hung a few over the plate and we haven't capitalized. The Yanks have. The pitch to Jeter should have been a strike. The pitch to Abreu was a blatant ball. Felix
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Couldn't we have traded 4 crappy prospects for Abreu? And eat his contract? Unless you don't want an entire 25 man roster next year with major league players, no.
nitetrain8601
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) STOP THROWING THE CHANGEUP GARLAND! P.S.- feel free to get ejected anytime you want Ozzie. It can't do anything but energize this team. The changeup is dangerous to hitters when he mixes it in with his 2 seamer, but the thing is, most people don't want Garland throwing his fastball that much. Just his sinker. Just remember, we've seen Garland at his most dominant(last year in playoffs against Angels), when he's thrown and spotted his 4seam, 2seam and changeup. Just food for thought though. Milkman delivers
Are people still saying the Abreu trade won't help the Yankees that much? Oh, and this inning has sucked all of the momentum out of the team that they gained last night. More and more, I'm starting to believe this team is like every other Sox team pre-2005. We just keep waiting for that magical spark to send us on that definitive streak, and it never comes or they never capitalize on said spark. Brian Cashman gave the Yankees a HUGE lift at the deadline. Abreu was struggling in Philly, but that team also has a terrible psyche going. Being around professional hitters was definitely going to bring out his strengths again.

RockRaines
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) STOP THROWING THE CHANGEUP GARLAND! P.S.- feel free to get ejected anytime you want Ozzie. It can't do anything but energize this team. I just want to say this: Jon has pitched an amazing game. Without the umps f***ing him over, the score would not be as it is. Also the 2 HR's were hitters who were fooled and just threw their arms at the ball. If we get this Jon Garland every game, we will win a s***load of games.
