I think there is something wrong with the general negative obsession with Ozzie, but that might just be me.

i just think he's made some bad in-game decisions. i love him as the manager - he's great with the players, just sometimes his pitching decisions bug me... a lot.

FWIW, here's bobby's numbers as his outings go on:

By Inning / Pitches AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS

Pitches 1-15 163 9 39 6 0 4 14 10 1 47 2 2 .239 .284 .350 .634

Pitches 16-30 35 11 8 1 0 1 7 10 0 13 5 0 .229 .383 .343 .726

Pitches 31-45 6 2 1 0 0 0 2 1 0 4 1 0 .167 .286 .167 .452

He gives up more runs in pitches 16-30, but that could well be an effect of people being on base from pitches 1-15. People's BA's against him actually go down the more of a groove he gets into.

in my book i think if jenks is going to become an elite pitcher, he needs to learn how to always get outs... i love bobby as much as anyone, but i dont think its ozzie's fault he's not dominating today

Why not use your guys where they have the most success? Bobby has shown to have trouble pitching consecutive innings. Thornton would have been the ideal guy in the 8th to get Teahan.

I rest my case.

nah man, obviously the kid can go multiple innings, and macD was in trouble and Jenks was warm. NO reason not to bring him in.

Gapper. It's 5-4, 2nd and 3rd 1 out.

Ozzie defenders:

1. Why did Thornton not face Teahen

2. Why would Jenks come in during the 8th, when he's notorious for sucking in the subsequent 9th.

Grudz gets an IBB, bases loaded 1 out.

HE GOT US A RUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 8TH!!!!!!!!!!
