iguchi=dank
counting today, in the last 8 games we have scored more than 1 run in an inning 5 times. ONCE we scored more than 2 in an inning and that was when we scored 4 in the 9th when KC was beating us by like 12. So... coming back is really not something were prolly going to see. And those numbers are plain nasty. I can't believe the approach these hitters are using, and that our 23456 hitters can't get more than 2 runs in an inning for us. Add in the fact we can't pitch is why its just so damn frustrating to watch these last 8 games and why were b****ing alot. There just hasn't been any BIG innings to feed the appetite. your welcome for my quality post. Edited August 23, 2006 by iguchi=dank

SoxnGiants
This is embarrassing, these guys are professionals - they should be ashamed at their performance lately. So much of this struggle is avoidable (poor approach at the plate, focus in the field) you'd think they'd pull out of it for pride's sake. But I thought the same thing last week against KC... and I was as wrong then as I am now. As much as I love this team, they sure do know how to frustrate me more than any other team I cheer for (that's saying something coming from a NY Giants fan). Brian
Take a shot everytime a rightie on the Sox tries to pull a pitch low and away. It's fun.

cgaudin
This game is actually fun to watch. No, really. The Tigers are taking us to school. I want to see what kind of gumption the 2006 White Sox will have tomorrow. Will it be an apathetic, business-like approach, or will it be a "We're gonna PHAWKIN' kill you, rape your women, and eat your children" attitude? Stay tuned...... elrockinMT
4-0 Tigers now after Buerhle gives up a homer. A game is not complete without our guys giving up at least one homer. There will probably be more to come though. I can't figure out what these guys are doing anymore, but we give up a lot of 4-baggers. But, we are still in wild card contention, if they can just get their heads free of that lower orifice.
SoxFan562004
If the White Sox, Twins or Red Sox get hot it seems 1 of them can just run away with this WC. THANK YOU!! 3E8
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 08:37 PM) I never much approved of McCarthy's role from the beginning. Relief pitchers, aside from a few rarities, frequently use one or two pitchers during their outtings. It's difficult to consistently have the feel for your changeup or curveball when work is sporadic. Personally, I was an advocate of trading one of our starters while their stock was high last offseason and obtaining a bullpen arm/SP prospect. McCarthy would be in the rotation, our bullpen would have had another necessary component. I felt the same way during the offseason, and was pretty vocal about it. Most members contended that pitching prospects starting their career in the bullpen is the most effective way to develop them.

GreatScott82
I hate Detroit but they obviously want it more than the White Sox do. We will be lucky to squeeze in via the wild card. im one run away from turning this damn game off.
SoxFan562004
I don't want to hear anyone from the team mention that the they are either tied or one game up in the WC tomorrow (depending on what Twins do). This isn't about the WC standings on August 23. At this point this is about this team dogging these last 5 games against the Twins and Tigers. iguchi=dank
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) MacDougal in the bullpen? It might be time for us to find a 12th pitcher, as MacDougal doesn't need to be pitching in these situations. Why are we wasting guys like mcD at this point. this is another perfect spot for mcarthy to eat up pretty much the rest of this game and have riske finish it, since this game is basically over since you've seen that we have only scored more than 2 in an inning once in the last 8 games. On this note. our bullpen isn't really beneficial if your not going to pitch bmac in the long role. we have virtually no other pitcher who can go 2 innings and when your being beat in games alot (as in recently) we have to use pitchers we really shouldn't use. SoxFan562004
Mac has looked solid since coming over from KC. I love the ESPN myth to protect the Red Sox that no bullpen help moved at or near the deadline. It wasn't top name talent, but some good relief moved, I think the Reds gobbled most of it
