Two-A-Days

Recommended Posts

Not sure there will be much interest here, but there is a show making its debut on MTV tonight at 9:30 called Two-A-Days. It is a documentary based on Hoover HS's 2005 football season. Hoover High is the 6A team that plays at the Hoover Met. They have won 5 out of the last 6 football state championships in Alabama and play a semi-national schedule.

They opened last year playing against Nease, FL which included Tim Tebow. They play at the Met every year after the Barons season ends. If anything, in a few weeks you will probably see some interesting shots of the Met, albeit dressed as a football stadium.

This year, Hoover opens the season as the #1 team in the country and plays teams from Tulsa, OK and New Orleans as well as the Alabama defending 4A and 5A state champs.

Rex, I have a feeling your going to be REALLY dissapointed. Expect more about the QB dating the star cheerleader than football.

Actually I think the coach is an egotistical prick and I am not a fan of the program at all. I respect what they have accomplished, but not how they go about it. They are jokingly referred to Hoovah University around here. I will watch the first episode and that may be my last. I will probably peek in on occasion just to see some football footage, because they are very good. But unless the head cheerleader is REALLY hot, I have no interest in all of that.

Who am I kidding, you know damn good and well she is going to be hot. lol

I am interested in checking this out. Haven't seen the first episode but it sounds like MTV is doing this more as a documentary as opposed to how they do Laguna Beach.

FWIW, a production company paid for the rights to make this documentary in hopes to sell it to a cable network. From the beginning, MTV was the target, but the production was done without a deal from MTV. There was no guarantee it would even air until well after the season.
