Felix
Excellent job today for Jon and the offense. The team really played excellently today. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 04:15 PM) Contreras is an ace. To each his own. I disagree.
vandy125
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) Just when you need an out...Neifi Perez comes up.
Milkman delivers
What a game for Garland. He really is doing exactly what Contreras did last year. And now it's time for Vazquez to ruin all of the momentum that Jon has started yet again.

Princess Dye
QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) To each his own. I disagree. well, this is to everyone. defining this sort of thing in rigid ways is a hopeful exercise, ultimately leads to nowhere. Garland's having a good stretch and is helping this team stay in two races. he's also no Roger Clemens. it is what it is. oh god i'm hawk. Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Not into complete game shut outs? Nah, Garland is my favorite pitcher on the staff and I'd love to see him get it (and he did). Just figured no harm in giving him the inning off and getting another one of guys some confidence. That said I had no problem sticking with Jon. Thankfully we have him. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) Why not? It's the same thing Jose did last year and everyone called him an ace. Whose won more games since the start of last season????
Dick Allen
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) Just when you need an out...Neifi Perez comes up. One of the most peculiar things while I was in Detroit was the Tiger fans' belief that Neifi was a good player. I'm pretty sure they are quickly seeing the light. cgaudin
Dye hitting in front of Paulie was key. He gets good protection and the pitch selection is going to be choice, especially if guys get on base in front of him. I've been calling for this lineup for a few months. Now is when Ozzie sees the light, he had to be forced to do it. When Thome gets back I would like to see him bat fourth against righties and fifth against lefties. It shouldda been that way from the start. That's the best CONTACT-POWER combination lineup that Ozzie can throw out there.
