FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) They're a good band. But it's kind of funny that they should come up today. I was just commenting to another Canadian band about how I am pretty sure that the world next wave of great music is going to come from Canada. I made mention to them about April Wine. Then they show up. Creepy. Not as creepy as the fact that earlier somebody (that wasn't Kip) had a Chilliwak song come up in their shuffle. Rush? Randy Bachman?? Paul Schaffer??? Hecll No, Kim Mitchell and Chilliwak are the alpha and omega of Canadian music. And now, a quick addition to the shuffle kerfuffle: Future - Todd Rundgren Rain at the Drive-In - NRBQ I Me Mine - Beatles Shop Around - Smokey Robinson Take the Money and Run - Steve Miller Band Wind Up - Jethro Tull What A Shame - Steely Dan Saturday in the Park - Chicago Ballad of Easy Rider - Richard Thompson Caring Is Creepy - The Shins And the bonus shuffle winner: Jilted John - Jilted John
Texsox
Carry on Wayward Son - Kansas Don't you Care - Buckinghams Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac Hot Fun in the Summertime - Sly and the Family Stone Peg - Steely Dan Breathless - Corrs It's Too Late - Carole King that hit the spot. Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood - Animals Indiana Wants Me - R. Dean Taylor Son of a Son of a Sailor - Jimmy Buffet I'll let that one run. Kid Gleason
Ah, it was bound to happen. iPod won't power on or anything. The screen is on, but nobody is home. I played a video, the video ended, and the screen stayed on, but blank. Nothing works. Plugging into the computer doesn't do a dang thing, nothing. $400 isn't a bad price for a paperweight, is it? He didn't do anything, but all of a sudden it started working again. That trick has worked three or four times with him. Personally, I think iPods suck for quality. Kid Gleason
How the hell do you take one of these apart??? I'm hoping by the light being on that means the battery is going. I'm hoping for a case of draining the battery and doing a reboot. I have yet to let it run down on me, so I'm hoping it's just a clog up in it, like never rebooting your computer. Texsox
He hit the "I don't care, I'm throwing it out anyway, I want to take it apart and see what is inside" stage and just pried apart the case. All of a sudden it would boot again.
Kid Gleason
Hm, my wife would kill me. I do that with guitars, but with nothing else. Sooo, I'll wait for my post on the Apple forums to get answered.
FlaSoxxJim
iPods can sense if they are being forced to interface with any of that cheap iron wintel hardware, and then they give up and die. If you were using a Mac the iPod would be happy and wouldn't commit iSuicide.
Kid Gleason
Ah, I see. Well, it has returned to the land of the living. It might be that the battery did completely die, and just before it hit that state it was 100% useless. I plugged it into the computer and it seemed to be totally dead for about 5 minutes, and then it regained enough juice to be useable again through iTunes. So, we will see how it reacts in a few hours to being used on it's own again. This was a fine test though for knowing that when the battery dies, it will be dead and I won't be able to just use it with the computer. BobDylan
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 10:28 AM) iPods can sense if they are being forced to interface with any of that cheap iron wintel hardware, and then they give up and die. If you were using a Mac the iPod would be happy and wouldn't commit iSuicide. You wish that were true, but iPods commit suicide all around the world regardless of who their "mother" is. iPod's are great, I love mine (despite being anti macintosh) but they have serious issues that have never been ironed out. Plus Microsoft is about to blow the ipod to nothingness with the Zune. http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/itunes/micr...date-186628.php (Crack all the jokes you want to with Microsoft bugs, but it can't be any worse than the lifeline of the iPod that takes 30 trips to the ER every year)
