FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 14, 2006 -> 09:49 AM) Marley - I Can See Clearly Now Song Challenge!! From whence does this Marley version of Johnny Nash's masterpiece come from? I'm not saying such a cover doesn't exist, and if it does, please turn me on to it. Nash wrote the song, despite apocryphal stories about him buying the song for 50 bucks from some young Marley Kid while vacationing in jamaica. Marley did write a few other songs that Nash commissioned (Stir It Up, Comma Comma, Guava Jelly that I know of), but not I Can See Clearly Now. I've heard that some of the Wailers backed Nash on his recording of the song, but I've also heard that his backing band consisted of members of Average White Band. I don't know the actual studio roster. Jimmy Cliff did do a commercial cover of I Can See Clearly Now. It was used in the film Cool Runnings. maybe you are a lowdown mp3 theif and your track is actually this one mis-credited to Bob, hmm? Hothouse Flowers also did a cover, as did legendary local Florida reggae group the Puzzlers.

Kid Gleason
They're a good band. But it's kind of funny that they should come up today. I was just commenting to another Canadian band about how I am pretty sure that the world next wave of great music is going to come from Canada. I made mention to them about April Wine. Then they show up. Creepy.
