BearSox
I don't know about you guys, but I have about had it Uribe. I think it would be best to platoon Cintron and Ozuna at SS, and using Uribe as a defensive replacement in late innings. Plus, it would add a much needed spark to the bottom of the order. Another thing, I think Gload deserves to play at least half the time. But with Thome and Konerko, that won't happen. BUT, he should be platooning in LF with Gload. Yes, I know they are both lefties, but Gload can hit, plain and simple. He has baseball's best pitcher's number. And Mack should get some more time in LF, and less in CF. And most importantly, McCarthy needs to be inserted into the rotation. And either Kenny needs to make a waiver deal and get a bullpen arm for Vazquez or have Vazquez pitch in relief. And if Vazquez doesn't like that, too bad. Dye has to stay in the 3 hole. And Thome needs to move down to 5th. The reason why Konerko is at 4th is because Konerko has done so much for this team and us fans and it would be just wrong to disrespect him like that and move him down. Plus, Thome hasn't been the same Thome from the beginning of the year. He has been struggling. And soon the expanded roster will begin, and we will be able to add some key parts. Jerry Owens as a pinch runner. Charlie Haeger and Chad Tracey for long relief, because we need it with this pitching staff. And Boone Logan as a lefty specialist. And after the knights season is over, I can see Ryan Sweeney and Josh Fields being called up as well. LINEUP A 1. Podsednik, LF 2. Iguchi, 2B 3. Dye, RF 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Thome, DH 6. Crede, 3B 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Cintron/Ozuna, SS 9. Anderson, CF LINEUP B 1. Cintron/Ozuna, SS 2. Iguchi, 2B 3. Dye, RF 4. Konerko, 1B 5. Thome, DH 6. Crede, 3B 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Anderson, CF 9. The Critic
If defense wins titles, Uribe needs to stay at SS. His defense there is very good. Dye should stay in the 3 hole, but he won't. Gload in LF would be scary, but Pods hasn't exactly been reassuring out there either, so who knows?

SoxnGiants
Considering Gload would not be worse defensively in LF than PODS and is hitting better over the past few months I would consider making that change. I still think PODS is capable of hitting much better but I'm sick of waiting for his slump to end. While Thome is out and Gload is in the order, I would bat him in the 2 hole versus RH'ers. His OBP has been great lately - we need someone to set the table for Dye, Konerko & Crede.
SoxFanForever
How about we replace the meathead manager who is putting all of these guys in a position to fail or not putting them in any position at all?

Dick Allen
Uribe has 11 errors and has made quite a few circus plays. He also will probably get 20 homers and 70 rbi, not bad for a guy who supposedly can't hit. Benching him would be a huge blunder, but we saw the biggest blunder last night. We have a guy on the team that right now is probably the teams second best starter, and he hardly ever pitches and never starts while our starters minus Garland now get ripped around the park game in and game out. Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 10:44 AM) I've been requesting Gload in LF for a while now. Prancing Pods is simply not doing anything better than Gload right now. With Pods not running anymore, its been pointless to have him out there. Gloads would be such a signficant upgrade over him. But bottom line, I want a new manager. I'm sick of tired of our motherf***ing manager putting this motherf***ing players in a position where they can't succeed (sorry about the cursing, but I love snakes on a plane). I've had it with him putting guys in a position that they can't succeed. Thats not what a good manager does, good managers do everything they can to always put there players in the best situations for them to succeed (and as a result the team succeeds). Ozzie's trashed Garland and Tracey verbally, called Bmac a piece of s*** (well pretty much stating that he isn't anything compared to what we have), he's made stupid jag comments in the media (from the Mariotti incident to all the stuff about stealing signs) and he's been a terrible manager (in terms of a baseball standpoint) yet the entire media still hoots and hollars and raves about how great he is. It really is a joke that no one in the baseball media has the guts to step up and call things like it really is (its too bad that the only one who might do it is Mariotti, but even if he were to write a spot on article, it wouldn't float over well just because of who he is). That's the number one change that needs to be made, bottom line. If that happens then maybe we'll have a competent manager who will realize one of our best overall players since the 2nd half of the season keeps getting benched for no reason for a guy who can't play cf. Maybe the new manager will also realize that one of our best starting pitchers has been rotting in the bullpen all year. Ozzie just needs to go away. TaylorStSox
Jesus christ. This thread's like the twighlight zone. First somebody says that Uribe's not that good defensively. Then, people actually believe Ozzie's going to be fired.
