GreatScott82
Has that ever happend in MLB before? Here are the #s: Dye- 39 Thome- 36 Konerko- 29 Crede-28 These 4 will all hit 30+ Homeruns. When was the last time a team had 4 guys hit 30+ homeruns? Uribe- 16 Iguchi-14 Pierzynski- 12 Theres a good chance AJ won't hit 20, but I like the chances of Uribe and Gooch. The Sox could be breaking some offensive records this season.
valponick
Iguchi won't hit 20, he'll probably end up with 17. Actually I don't think any of those 3 will hit 20.

The Rockies had a team that I think had Gallaraga, Bichette, Castilla, and Walker and I think all of them had 30 HR's.

wsox08
Iguchi- there's no way he gets twenty but Uribe is the only one with some kind of chance if he hits one of those streaks.
maggsmaggs
one of the 2000's sox teams had 20+ homer guys in: Valentin, Thomas, Maggs, Lee, Kong
whitesoxin'
I don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere, but with AJs homer today, the Sox are the first team in MLB history to have 200 home runs in 7 straight seasons.
Jordan4life_2007
I'd rather have a team with 7 pitchers with an ERA under 4 -- like last year.
FlaCWS
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) I'd rather have a team with 7 pitchers with an ERA under 4 -- like last year. Exactly... to be honest, I'm kind of sick of all the HRs. Especially since they're happening against us, too. I liked last year's approach better - yeah, we hit HRs last year, but we also moved guys around, bunted, etc.... and most importantly, PITCHED! JoeBatterz
I thought the Dodgers might have had 4 guys hit 30 homers in a season. I am too lazy to look it up, but it might have been Steve Garvey, Ron Cey, Reggie Smith and maybe Davey Lopes? That was sometime in the late 70's. JoeBatterz
I looked it up, in 1977, the Dodgers did have 4 guys with 30 plus homeruns. Steve Garvey with 33 Reggie Smith with 32 Ron Cey with 30 and the current manager of the Cubbies with 30. Davey Lopes only had 11 that year.
