shoota
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Only an Ozzie lead team, is the pitcher in after getting raped. Yep. It's a good idea to pull a pitcher who's pitching horribly 1) to prevent him from putting your team in a deeper deficit, and 2) he gets a small break and could be fresher in his next start, giving your team a better chance at winning that game too. atrain081
how many more bad losses before ozzie realizes something needs to be changed? damn, i never thought i'd be happy to be playing the red sox and tigers instead of kansas f***ing worst team in the american league city

southsideirish71
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Its pretty funny that the White Sox approach gets ripped, but when the swing for the fences and it works its considered a great at bat. Its maddening when we have men in scoring position, where all we need is a single up the middle or a duck snort and we have 3 guys trying to hit the dan ryan, falling over and King or doing the corpseball crap. Pods is worthless. He is this years Timo.

Dick Allen
If you lined up major league players by how good they are, the line in front of Pods would be miles longer than the line behind him. It appears its a lock that he won't be back next season, and I for one am happier than KW was when he got to say goodbye to Frank Thomas.
shoota
QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) well boys, it was fun. You can carry the dead weight of a Javy Vasquez but add to that a brain dead cuban who's supposed to be your ace and it's too much. The pitching wasn't up to the task this year. And no one's to blame but them. I wouldn't call Jose Contreras "brain dead." I think his poor 2006 performance is due to physical problems, not intellectual. The fact we couldn't do much of anything the last couple days against 2 rookie pitchers didn't instill a lot of confidence in me going into this one tonite. kwolf68
It was movie night with the wife tonight...Watched Field of Dreams...maybe I'll go out in my backyard and build a baseball stadium and the 2005 White Sox will show up there, because they sure as hell haven't been spotted in the majors lately. SoxHawk1980
I'm sure glad Count is out there to keep eating up innings in this game where he is getting hit like it is batting practice. I'm sure his sore 40-year-old arm late in the season doesn't need a rest at all. I sure hope he pitches 8+.

StrangeSox
So why is he out there when we have +2 arms in the bullpen now? How can anyone defend ozzie's decisions? I'm hoping there's a mutiny in the dugout soon Edited September 2, 2006 by StrangeSox

The Joe Mays formula for shutting down corpseball lead teams. Throw a fastball down low and away, repeat for until you get to 2 strikes. Then bounce something into the other batters box and let the magic happen. You know for as much as Walker and his cohorts talk about hitting the ball to all fields, every single year with different players we see the same exact approach. Thank God we locked up our coaching staff for years to come. We can get Joey waving everyone and their brother around 3rd, and we can start to see teams employ the shift on every hitter to shut us down. The only guys who are attempting to hit it the other way. Brian, Dye and Crede. Guys who are pretty much pull only AJ and Kong

SoxHawk1980
How many runs can Count give up before Ozzie gets a clue, stops whatever he is doing besides managing, and pulls the sidearm count. Count's arm will eventually fall off. Then Ozzie will pull him. Or maybe he'll make him pitch lefty so he can stay in long enough to get the W.
