StrangeSox
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 08:06 PM) Only the 4th GIDP for Thome. That's pretty shocking to me. Well, he was hitting behind pods and iguchi for a while. Add in the fact that its usually crush-or-K for Thome...
southsideirish71
Low and Away to every single one of our hitters. Walker and the boys have a great plan tonight. You pitch like this against any other major league team, and they start to hit the ball back up the middle and to right. We keep pulling, and trying to elevate everything. Nice approach for the 7th best offense in scoring runs in the AL in the 2nd half.

fathom
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) Nice approach for the 7th best offense in scoring runs in the AL in the 2nd half. How many of those runs have been unearned against the opposition? It seems like we've been the beneficiaries of some terrible defense in the last month. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:07 AM) Its beginning to look like a pre-2005 stretch run for the White Sox. Where's everyone that says Pods is our catalyst? If that's true, then we should release his ass right now.
CWSOX45
I'm just astonished that we have trouble against a fat piece of s*** like Hernandez.... Meanwhile the Twins are still losing....we need to win this god damn game.

CYGarland
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 06:01 PM) Too bad JD can't bat in 3 or more spots in our lineup, simultaneously. Is it possible he could hit in every spot in the lineup? we can have Ghost baserunners for him when he gets on base, like in grammar school

iguchi=dank
my god. 4 straight games of pitchers with ABSOLUTELY horrible numbers. And we can't even get like 2 good at bats in a row. simply amazing. (1st 2 innings in first drays game exluded)

Dick Allen
I was at the game yesterday and there was a guy who looked like Jermaine's double if JD gained about 40 lbs. He was with a little kid. I wonder if it was his brother, I don't know if JD even has one.

southsideirish71
AJ and Thome were notorious spray hitters who hit a lot of balls to left field. That is until they got to our team. Now its pretty much right field only. Check out AJs hitting chart at the cell, and look at the amount of putouts by the first baseman. He is the Paul Konerko of catchers in the 2nd half. I hate when our teams tinker with things that work. AJ hits great in the first half, then suddenly changes to become a power hitter. His average is crap in the 2nd half and the homers he does get are not enough to state the change. AJ hitting to all fields is worth a lot more than the 250 homer hitting catcher.
