NorthSideSox72
Tuesday, September 5th, 7:05pm ET (6:05 Chicago) Chicago White Sox at Boston Red Sox Fenway Park J Vazquez (11-8) vs K Gabbard (0-3) Preview: http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/p...0060905_CHW@BOS Well, since I'm still undefeated in regular season game threads (4-0), I suppose this team needs another one... Sweeney maybe starting in RF or LF. Vaz looking stronger nowadays. Gabbard less than spectacular. I like our chances. mee mee mee mee mee... GO YOU WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!! southsideirish71
Hopefully our guys can adjust to the barage of low and away breaking crap and changeups that they will be fed in this game from a lefty.

The Ginger Kid
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) Is it bad the only reason I want to watch is because Sweeney might play.... I'm torn. I wasn't going to watch it and not even bother to check the score until the paper comes tomorrow. But with Sweeny playing, it's hard to resist. People here seem to be forgetting that Vazquez has been the second best starter on the team in the last month or so. Not that its saying much... but it is the case. maggliopipe
Tonight will be my first visit to Fenway. I'm glad I didn't get tickets to last night's debacle, but who knows, maybe tonight will be worse. I'll be wearing some Sox gear and hoping I don't get beat up. chisox72
It always makes me nervous, despite Vaz on the bump tonight, when the Sox face no-name pitchers with crappy numbers. They ALWAYS find a way to make them look REAL good. Here is to hoping tonight is different though, and that we stifle the return of Papi with a nice victory. Need to bounce back, lets start tonight...

southsideirish71
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) How the f*** does a team get their top 4 hitters back in 2 days? Just hit the f***ing ball, throw the ball well, and catch the ball. And play like the season is on the line. Run out ground outs, and break up double plays. I could care less about the Boston offense, with a medicore 6+ era pitcher on the mound who was gifted with the southpaw hand, its more of if we hear this tonight from the Hawkeroo. Hawk "Well Young Mr Gabbard is pitching his tail off tonight. I dont care what his ERA says, this kid has some talent. I was talking to some scouts before the game, and they didnt clue me into how sharp this kid is. " DJ "Well when facing a lefty like this, you want to hit the ball up the middle or the other way. Which is harder than it looks, as they want to tease you with breaking stuff away to entice you to hit it on the ground and get the out. Gabbard has induced 3 double plays this evening, and has been lucky to get out of a few jams. But when you have a good defense behind you, you can risk lettting a good hitting team put it on the ground. Paulie needs to come through here, as the whitesox offense is in a bit of a funk right now. Minnesota won today on a 35-0 score as Santana strikes out a career high 18 Devil Rays at home." Hawk "Well the Sox are threatening here, oh for the long one here. Konerko has to cinch it up, and hunker down here. Paulie fouls off the 1-2 pitch. Wow he just missed a cookie right there. Bow your neck Paulie, and here is the pitch, Dagdabit, and the kid will get out of walking the bases loaded as it goes 6-4-3 and you can rack em up. The whitesox have blown a golden opportunity here to score in here in the 6th inning. And its 2-0 badguys. Allsox
And the Score just reported Bobby is out for the series. An ailing hip is the reason why. If ever the Sox needed a miraculous start from Vazquez, it'd be tonight!
