Frankensteiner
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:39 PM) Dude, he freaking killed the ball on that play. Just right at the 3rd baseman. So what? Why couldn't he the opposite way or up the middle?
fathom
QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:42 AM) Doing something like this, embarassing a player the way Ozzie USED TO throw players under the bus, might put a sense of urgency in these players. Ozzie did that too much earlier in the year, and people close to the team seem to believe that he's lost his edge with the players.

SoxnGiants
That sucked. But this is a big inning for Vazquez, he won't have to face Ortiz or Manny so hopefully he'll get through it 1-2-3. I think it would be HUGE for his confidence. EDIT: geez, it took me 2 outs to type that! Way to go Javy! REALLY well done tonight - my hat is off to you! southsideirish71
Sweeney should play some winter ball and work on his speed approach also. With his sweet ass swing and doubles approach, he could be sweet to replace Prancer. I am not sold on picking up 900 year old Dave Roberts who is Prancer II the older version. fathom
Good job by Vazquez. He's trailing, so there's a little less pressure on him.
WHarris1
Granted it's only 2 ABs, and those ABs haven't changed anything but Sweeney needs to get regular starts the rest of the way.
Frankensteiner
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) The Twins already have won tonight and we already have lost. Funny thing is neither game is officially over. We play Tampa, KC, and a pathetic Boston team and actually lose ground in that stretch. Gotta love us. iguchi=dank
props to vasquez, he's been really good for a about a month now, and yes i remember he screwed up a 6th inning a few times still, but at that point he usually had only let up like 2 runs, our offense is, really disgusting, disgusting. Frankensteiner
Good job by Vazquez not folding despite going over 75 pitches. I'm still terrified with every pitch but at least he's done the job.

maggsmaggs
QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) If we did somehow make the playoffs, I would go with Garland, Buehrle, Vazquez, Contreras as the rotation. And maybe even leave Garcia off the playoff roster. Heres to Vaz Heres to the O

Milkman delivers
How badly is Contreras going to get molested tomorrow? With the way he's pitched recently, his history with Boston, and apparent injury, he'll be smoked.

I'm still a huge fan of making a run at Mathews Jr. for LF.
