AlexB2009
Why not start Ozuna in the lead-off role every game from now on? Pods is struggling horribly. And everytime I look up, Ozuna is doing something to try and help this team win. Now, his defense isn't all that good..but I'd take it at this point. Why not start Ozuna? Felix
Ozuna is not a starter, and shouldn't be. He's a good spark guy, but spark guys lose their worth when you play them daily.
Chisoxfn
Bottom line he'd be a better everyday player than Pods at this point.

I totally agree. I would also take Sweeney in left field and leadoff everyday instead of Pods. I'm not saying that he is a better fit than Ozuna, but if my choice was between Sweeney and Pods I choose Sweeney. At the very least he will greatly improve our defense. Greg The Bull Luzinski
Standardized Test Reasoning. Evaluate the Left Field Situation. Statement 1 Defense is a wash. Statement 2 Pablo is a better hitter than Pods. Conclusion Pods should sit on the bench while Pablo plays.
SABR Sox
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 07:32 PM) Bottom line he'd be a better everyday player than Pods at this point. So would quite a few bench players. My problem with Pablo is he's good guy to hit against LH'ers every once in a while, thats it. His OBP is completley fueled by is high and unsustianable batting average. I'd rather see Sweeney leadoff everyday before Pablo to be completley honest. But I will agree with you in one area: His is a better option than our boys Pods.

fathom
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 12:51 AM) Pods lost his "spark" 3 months ago.... Pods lost his spark about 14 months ago. Barbaro's healing faster than he is.
JDsDirtySox
Ryan Sweeney as the Starting Left Fielder will take place any day now.
NorthSideSox72
I am all for a Pablo/Sweeney platoon in LF for the remainder of the season. Heck, I'd be all for any combination of Ozuna, Sweeney, Mack and Gload out there over what Pods brings right now. But I don't think it will happen. Westsox
Yep, ol Pods was a real factor in last night's loss!

LOL that's the funniest statement I've heard in a while and sadly it seems true that Barbaro is healing faster.

I even think Ryan may be a better baserunning threat than PODS at this point.
Harry Chappas
Until he pissed off the Cardinals by aging a few years, Pablo Ozuna was going to replace Edgar Renteria. Why can he not replace Uribe for the next 24 games? Then Sweeney, Gload or Pods can play left? Oh right he and Mackowiak have forgotten how to play any other position because they are playing positions they are incapable of. Do you think it is tough to learn a new position and bat lead-off???
