I enjoy watching the NFL when the teams are good. I do not watch games that don't involved the good teams i mentioned (I didn't watch tonight's game at all, for example, however the box score makes it obvious it was ugly).

Then how do you know which teams are good and which aren't?

If Dallas make the change and put Romo in at QB, the NFC Championship is a distinct possibility for us.

Either way, our pass protection needs to signifacantly improve from last night as well.

Roy Williams needs to learn how to play in coverage as well.

Still the leader of our defense(Urlacher) was a first rounder and the leader of our offense(Grossman) was a first rounder. 1st rounders are mostly over-paid overall.... but there is also a reason they are in the 1st round as well.

Lets remember we moved down to get Grossman and paid considerably less for a shot at Haynes/Grossman than a DT like Dewayne Robertson.

Plus, is it really different in MLB? For the most part, you have the elite -- Detroit, both New Yorks, Minnesota. You have the pretty damn good -- Sox, Oakland, Boston, Anahiem. And the rest.

And below the rest, you have the NL (sans the Mets, of course). :D

There is no such thing as an elite team this year when it comes to baseball. They all are pretty f***ing pathetic and I think we'll be seeing the worse world series winner in a long long time.

It's amazing to me the NFL is so popular. The games and product are a mediocre suckfest to be honest, and the only teams I've seen all year that looked like they were any more than mediocre are the Bears, Chargers, Eagles, Colts, and Jaguars. That leaves 27 of 32 teams. Ouch.

The NFL is so popular because the parity is not as great as in other sports. At any given time a city's team can win the superbowl, thats why its so popular. That and the game is amazingly action packed.

Oh I'm aware that's why the league is so popular, everybody has a shot. All I'm saying is that the "parity" also waters down the talent, and the product itself on the field is a giant suckfest, with the exception of several very good teams. It is action packed, which is why I REALLY enjoy watching teams like the Bears, Chargers, Eagles, Colts, etc.....but about 26 teams in this league are unwatchably bad.

So you hate every professional sport? Because its worse in every other sport, football has the most even amount of talent on the field, and the least amount of games. On any given sunday your team can win, and it can be an important win, which is why the NFL is more fair and just than every other professional sport. Imagine if the MLB only played 16 games, imagine that. The NFL is the most even keeled league where every team has a chance every week, which is the exact opposite of why you dont like the league.

I think you mean that parity is greater in the NFL than in other leagues.

Correct, I stated that wrong.

I dislike the league because almost all of the teams themselves are bad. That's really all there is to it, and it seems obvious to me that among all the professional sports, football has the most teams in it that are terrible. Parity is a good thing, but a league full of bad teams is not. At least the NBA has a list of 10 or so teams that actually are good enough to do something every year.

By your ways of thinking one could argue besides the Mets... the rest of the NL wasnt worth watching. And besides what 4-5 teams in the AL the rest is also garbage.

And in the NBA for the past 4-5 seasons nobody might as well watched the entire East besides the Pistons. B4 last season that is.

Will people finally stop staying the Redskins are good?

I think it is a mirage that Washington is good. They have had decent defenses and have a history behind them.

Like the illusion that Roethlisberger is a top tier QB. He can run an offense and take care of the ball, but he is playing against KC today and looks like a Pro Bowler.

They usually do better in December...

 :cheers

Looks like the current NFL six pack is pretty clear IMO....

1. Bears

2. Chargers (yes, even with a loss)

3. Colts

4. Panthers (yes, even with 2 losses)

5. Seahawks

6. Saints

After that, you have a decent sized cluster of mediocre teams at best with decent to good records.

Like I said last week, the NFL at all times has 6 teams worth watching and 26 piles of doo doo. :)

sure thing skipper... what did baseball have this season. Mets, Twins, Tigers, Yanks, A's and Whitesox. how many good teams is that? And with the way the whitesox played the 2nd half they might not even belong in this argument.

You are correct, however this is the worst year for baseball I've ever seen in terms of good teams. By far. It's an abberation this year for baseball, whereas it's an every year thing in the NFL.

Anyone happen to catch highlights of Troy Polamalu tackled by his hair? Hilarious. I quietly cheer for moments such as those. Whichever player is willing to give the opposition another exposed item to attach themselves to deserves a good hair tug. Granted, he's a safety, but it's bound to play in your mind whenever running back an interception/fumble.

I also took great pleasure in seeing that even though I am a huge Polamalu fan. The best part was after the tackle Polamalu just walked away from the play like he was tackled normally, how much you want to bet if Ricky Williams or Al Harris were dragged down by their hair they'd be raising hell they second they hit the ground?

Meanwhile the entire Pittsburgh Steelers defense went to beat the holy hell out of Larry Johnson. :bang

That already happened to Ricky Williams. He wanted the guy fined or something but nothing was done.
