Brian
QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 11:00 PM) It's actually pretty catchy. Today couldn't have gone any worse. I have been one of Rex's biggest supporters, but Griese needs to start the playoff game. Rex has some of the worst mental toughness I have ever seen in a QB. The defense worries keeps me worried too, we made Ruvell Martin look like Jerry Rice. The only positive from this game is Benson, He's gonna be our starter next year and he's gonna be a stud. Is Orton an option? Griese made one good pass but wasn't much better. Cedric Benson was the only one who showed up. Doug and OB were on the mark. When Rex is bad in a game, he does NOT get better. He doesn't make adjustments. I have also been a Rex supporter but if he has a bad 1st quarter, you gotta yank him because he hasn't proven to make changes in a game. Green Bay played a very good defensive game. The really played well, taking away our short pass game and we didn't really adjust to try and extend the field too much. I could handle losing this game, as long as there was an effort, but tonight was brutal and I am very pissed.
knightni
It's sad. The Bears are the worst 13-3 team I've ever seen. They need a safety, an outside linebacker, possibly a younger guard and possibly a quarterback.

The problem is, it might be too late. You have to start Griese, but I guess Lovie said in his press conference Rex would start, although that could change. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) and possibly a quarterback. I don't want to waste this defense on drafting and developing a quarterback. Plummer, Bledsoe, and Leftwich are the guys I can think of off the top of my head that will be available. The only one worth taking a look at is Leftwich. They need a safety, an outside linebacker, possibly a younger guard and possibly a quarterback. We have 2 good starting safeties... injuries happen. Hunter Hillenmeyer is nothing special but he is solid I think... i wouldnt call it a hole but i wouldnt be against upgrading, Metcalf is the younger guard. It'd be easier to look at it that way if Rex hadn't already had 4 or 5 games this season in which he invoked images of Ryan Leaf. Don't get me wrong, I love Rex. I have no problem living or dying with him. I just hope "bad" Rex doesn't show up in the playoffs. We're not good enough to overcome that. Gregory Pratt
Rex Grossman can't handle the Packer defense, or the Miami defense, or the Cardinal defense. He can't take a snap without fumbling. What, is that the second botched snap he's had this year? That shouldn't happen in Pro Football. Can you imagine what the Ravens or the Chargers would do to him? I have no problem with Rex starting, considering the other options. But I don't believe he'll do much. -- On another note: LOL at the Colts for finding themselves facing KC. I hope the Chiefs destroy them.

Gregory Pratt
QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 31, 2006 -> 06:36 PM) Is that Pink song for Sunday Night Football annoying or catchy? I need help. Those lyrics are terrible. I figure, if you've got to sell out -- and of course you've got to, everybody does -- then at least do it with some sort of integrity. I wonder what the record is for rushing yards in a playoff game. LJ has a serious chance of breaking it. I'd suggest you look it up but I believe you're drunk as I think I read you say that on another thread. So huzzah! to new records!
Rowand44
Nice choke job by Denver there. Gotta chance to make the playoffs at home against the Niners and you lose? Ouch. Anyone else think the Colts are in real trouble next week? Edited January 1, 2007 by Rowand44

Heads22
I hope Indy just destroys KC. I like Edwards, LJ and most of that team, but I feel a heck of a lot more comfortable in the Dome. Hopefully some guys get healthy.

greasywheels121
KC's just middle of the AFC as far as defense goes. So there's no guarantee there. I highly doubt they're going to have an easy time stopping the Indy offense. So as Heads stated, whoever has the edge with time of possession should be the winner. DBAHO
The Cowboys vs. Seahawks game is going to be an absolute shootout. Seattle lost 2 of their corners yesterday, and are going to have to Jordan Babineaux (strong safety) as one of their starting corners, and maybe put Julian Peterson as the starting nickel cornerback. And the Cowboys have given up something like 14 TD's in the air over the past 4 games. I'd honestly take Roy Williams out, and put in 2 cover safeties. So it's probably the team that doesn't turn the ball over (e.g Romo please don't fumble 4 times again) who is probably going to win this one. Balta1701
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 1, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) The Bears would hand the ball off to their two headed monster all day, and win the game. The Colts are gonna be a really interesting team to watch in the playoffs, because with that defense, Manning is now at the point where he realizes he needs to keep the defense off the field, which is the opposite of what other teams have been doing to them with the running game...keeping manning off the field. So, he's suddenly running a lot more draws and a lot more underneath passing. But the wierd thing about it is...I've thought for 3 years now that the thing Manning needed to do a lot better was focus a lot more on the short passing game. He's something ridiculous like 80% or better on completions on those short, under 10 yard passes to Harrison, Wayne, Clark, and the RB's. Almost every time they lost in 04 and 05, it seemed to be because the other team kicked up the Blitz and Manning still stuck with the slow-developing 5 and 7 step drops, but in the 2nd half he'd start checking off to the underneath routes and suddenly the Colts would start moving the ball. In other words, the Colts crappy defense is forcing Manning to play the exact type of game that Manning needs to play against the teams that have beaten the Colts. CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 2, 2007 -> 06:10 AM) Nothing like those underneath passes to Addai. They're just plain sexy to watch develop. I'm still waiting for the Bears to incorporate those types of plays into their offensive gameplan. They're nice plays that are almost always positive gains and very little can go wrong. On the Bears game yesterday, I still hated the playcalling. Griese was one up on Grossman in his long pass to Bradley, but other than that, he looked equally as bad. But it starts at the top with Turner. It seems like they want to establish the pass first, run second. The games where the offense goes wayward seem to be the games where a.)Clark isn't utilized and b.)the run game isn't the offensive focus. 22 run plays? Are you f***ing kidding me? Moreover, only 14 touches for Benson? Speaking of which, someone make a case for why Thomas Jones should start that playoff game two weekends from now. I'm not 'hating' on him; he's far down on the totum poll as to why this team isn't playing particularly well right now. But Benson is clearly the better runner at this point. That's not to say that I don't want Jones getting any carries, but if I had it my way, I'd plan for Benson touching the ball 20-25 times with Jones getting it 10-15 times. I don't think anyone who has watched this team for the past five weeks can honestly tell me that Jones should be starting over Benson in two weeks. knightni
Lovie still doesn't have the balls to bench Jones for Benson. I mean, he HAS to see the difference.
