GoodAsGould
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 04:22 AM) I don't deny his achievements but I'm sure Bill Belichick, amongst many others, could take this team, in this division, to the playoffs two years in a row, and I'm sure Belichick would've beaten the Panthers last year. Just a difference of opinion, I guess. Belichick has had one of the best QB's in the league during the Patriots streak of dominance, maybe not for the first Superbowl but they should of lost that season in the AFC Championship game anyways. whitesoxfan101
Beras game went exactly like I expected, it's good I predicted a game as it would go right for about the 3rd time in 100 tries this year in the NFL. Also, I give Marty a TON of credit, only he could coach up a team that good and see them lose to a team that weak (and yes, the Patriots THIS YEAR are weak, just like last year. Got away with it today though). Brady was piss poor all day, but if you give him 8 chances, he'll wake up like he did. Enjoy your trip to Miami Colts fans, I hope i'm wrong but I think you'll be playing the Saints.

RME JICO
QUOTE(shipps @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) Obviously not, but they have plenty of weapons on offense, and our defense has shown nothing the past 6 weeks. No run defense and no pass rush, all in a cover 2 defense and you are screwed. It is not like they are superstars though. Jones and Benson outrushed McAllister and Bush during the regular season, and Bush had the edge in receiving yards. Colston had the most receiving yards, but Berrian and Muhammad are comparable to Colston and Henderson. Brees is much better than Grossman, but Clark is much better than Campbell at TE. NO is mainly a passing team, and the Bears have Rick Manning Jr with Vasher and Tillman to play in Nickel packages, which is basically three starting corners. Most teams don't have that luxury. Also, Bush will not be as fast at Soldier Field, which is his biggest strength. The Special Teams battle seems to be in favor of the Bears. It is not like NO is tearing up the league either, they limped into the playoffs going 1-2 in their last three games. Both teams have their weaknesses, and I think the Bears have a better chance than most people believe.
Controlled Chaos
QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 09:33 PM) almost a replica of an article he wrote around week 15 where he said the bears would be 1 and done in the playoffs this year for the same reasons he lists in this article he's an idiot, who cares Almost sounds like he has an axe to grind. When you write this sentence "Grossman kept his screw-ups to a workable number. He threw an interception in the fourth quarter to cornerback Pete Hunter, who about a week ago was working as a loan officer." and don't even mention that the ball was right to moose and it hit off his shoulder pads and then got picked, then it's like you're bending the facts. or this comment "watched Ryan Plackemeier shankemeier a punt 18 yards" and not mentioning that Idonije forced him to kick it that way. I just hate that style of writing. The Marriotti style. You have to kind of massage the facts to get your points across. He could have wrote the same lame ass story and told the whole truth. It still would have been lame, but at least you wouldn't lose credibility by not telling the whole story.

Chisoxfn
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 14, 2007 -> 10:56 PM) How far fetched is a Saints fix? Trust me, while its a great story...the Bears being back in the Super Bowl would be better for ratings. Its going to be one heck of a game and I'd think the line would be pretty much even (just because the Bears are the home team) otherwise I think the Saints would be favored on a neutral field. I'd be more confident but I still have a lot of questionmarks about our defense and offensively we are going to have to have a real crisp and well executed game out of Grossman and the entire unit (since the Saints can flat out score). RockRaines
In the wake of all of the ESPN press dedicated to talking about how great the Saints offense is, and how questionable the bears defense and offense are, its somewhat becoming lost that the Saints defense is one of the worst against the run in the league. The Bears are a running team. The bears two running backs are the best tandem ileft in the playoffs. The Saints give up an avg of 128.9 yards per game against the run. If the offense can move the ball with Jones and Benson and play action off of that, I think we have a great chance of taking the game. If its windy and cold, the running game becomes that much more important.
greasywheels121
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 15, 2007 -> 12:49 PM) This is really OT, but has anyone ever talked about giving like an UnEarned INT to a QB, like with that happened with Rex yesterday. It was a good throw, Moose juggled it, and it went right into a Seahawks arms. Really had nothing to do with Rex. Is that just a horrible idea? or am I on to something here... Meh, I agree with you that Rex doesn't deserve that INT in his stats, but I simply don't see that being worth it. Numbers can matter in the NFL, but it's no where close to where they are in baseball. So I never see it being debated.

Oh really, what was yesterday's game then? As far as I could tell, they had about 1 bad quarter, and after that, the defense stiffened up. The Bears don't have to be dominant to be good. You do realize this, right? Unearned may be the wrong term, but I'm sure somewhere they keep track of INT's which have been deflected, batted straight into the air, and bounced off receivers hands into defenders hands (and any other INT scenario you could think of). If they don't, they should, because it may help figure out who some better receivers/quarterbacks are without looking at the raw numbers. I guess we have no chance, because we've never ever beaten New England, much less in Indy. Our offense will likely stay down for a third game, and our defense can in no way contain a Tom Brady that looked like s*** against SD. Our offense will likely stay down for a third game, and our defense can in no way contain a Tom Brady that looked like s*** against SD. I'm very happy that NE got the W yesterday, getting the Colts another home game. I cannot wait to hear the hype train behind Sunday's game all week, because I love playing New England. I didn't think the Colts had a prayer against SD. I don't think it's even close to being a guarantee that the Colts can get the W on Sunday (in fact, I hope we're the underdogs for another week). Even though it was ugly, the Pats had to play one hell of a game to get past SD. I think it's going to be a very close game, and both sides have a fair shot at getting the W. Also, I've said this a couple times, there's no better way for the Colts to earn a spot in the Super Bowl, than by having to get past their rival/kryptonite, the Pats. And BTW f*** anyone that says the Colts are overrated, after Sunday. The Pats are a damn good team, winner of 3 of the last 5 Super Bowls. And nobody had the Colts stopping LJ or getting past Baltimore's D.

Of course you would, why wouldnt you pick a Patriots tandem that isnt anywhere close to as effective as the Bears. Dillon 812 yards Maroney 745 yards T Jones 1210 yards Benson 647 yards TJ and Benson statistically are better runners than the Saints backs. Bush obviously does alot more things than most backs and will improve over time, but regardless, the Bears backs right now are better runners.
