SinkingShip06
What's sad about this is that Thornton was ready in the pen at the beginning of the inning. Ozzie knew Jenks might run into problems, and that's why Thornton was warming. Yet it took 4 doubles to bring him in. ozzie must have been thinking of a cute sign to call in thornton like the "big boy" thing

Kalapse
QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Stop lying Fathom. If Jenks was healthy, you would have still jumped on Ozzie. Admit it! You are just watching every single negative that you can find to blame on Ozzie. Since last year! Jesus, Fathom and most everyone else has praised Ozzie in this game and others for good moves, when he makes a horrific one like this he will also get called on it. fathom
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 03:49 AM) Torre has a nice cushion, and can be afforded the luxery of playing somewhat-injured players. If Bobby's medically cleared to play by Herm and everyone involved in that decision, then I have no problem putting him in. I do think it was a mistake not to have Thornton face Grady, but I don't blame him for showing some confidence in his pitcher. I hope we win this ballgame. I don't want this to end on such a bulls*** note. Torre was resting Rivera a few months ago, when the Yanks were well behind the Red Sox.

South Side Fireworks Man
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:50 PM) A regular sacrifice bunt like all NL teams can execute, sure. The way Thome is running, he'd have a hard time making third on a single to LF.
iguchi=dank
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) If you want to blame Ozzie, here's where I'll accept the criticism. This game was lost when with runners on first and second we can't ask AJ to bunt because we know he can't get the runners over. We need to bunt there with the 2 run lead to expand it. We can't bunt because our guys can't bunt. If that is Oz's fault then I can accept that if you blame him for having a team that can't f***ing bunt. But putting in Jenks ... my god. are you serious? really serious? How is it not clear that thorton shouldn't have came on to face sizemore, not saying he gets the job done perfect, but jenks had n.o.t.h.i.n.g out there, and it was pretty obvious. But hey I guess most of us are stupid and your right. I can live with that.

Texsox
I deleted a couple posts that were overboard and those that quoted it. We let a little extra go in the game threads because everything is happening so fast and we're all involved and die with every damn double that got hit. Be cool. You are just watching every single negative that you can find to blame on Ozzie. Since last year! Jenks is the pitcher I have the most confidence in on the team, and it's not even close. I can guarantee you (feel free to believe me if you want) that I would have wanted him in to face Sizemore if he's 100 pct. What I love about Jenks is that he can K batters in tough situations. However, it's too bad that he's not even close to 100 pct.
