Gregory Pratt
Hawk just mentioned that hopefully AJ's walkoff will be remembered as a defining moment of 2006. I think it very well might be -- provided we win the WC or Divisision and do something worth a damn in the playoffs. If we do, then I think that, the series with Houston, several of the late-inning Closer Killings -- these will all be remembered as defining moments. If we don't do anything, fail to make the playoffs, I think Houston's last game here where we made up the deficit in two innings but lost in extras would be a prime candidate as a defining moment, like the Cleveland game with the huge rally, too. Great baseball for a couple of innings, with strong performances and a ton of guts, but ultimately, failure. I think this just become my favorite moment of the year, for what it's worth. greg775
It really was a great moment. Great call by Hawk. Those fans were going crazy. I wonder if any were dumb enough to leave early. I bet most stayed to watch the dramatics. Did AJ really toss the bat toward the Tribe dugout? Awesome.
G&T
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) It really was a great moment. Great call by Hawk. Those fans were going crazy. I wonder if any were dumb enough to leave early. I bet most stayed to watch the dramatics. Did AJ really toss the bat toward the Tribe dugout? Awesome. My girlfriend was at the game with her family and made her Mom leave early, but her Mom appearantly decided to watch AJ's AB at one of the entrances in the upper deck as they were walking out. So that worked out well. And yeah he did toss the bat.

South Side Fireworks Man
2005 defining moment: A.J.'s walkoff against the Dodgers. 2006 defining moment: A.J.'s walkoff against the Indians??? QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) I though Gload's grand slam was the defining moment? Good call. That too!

Dam8610
There were MANY defining moments in 2005. I'd say at least one per month except August. I hope this is a defining moment, but the way this team has played for the past 2 months, it doesn't look like it will be though.

IlliniKrush
You could hear a pin drop in the place in the top of the ninth after we blew the lead. I have never, ever heard the park that dead...and for good reason. Wow, what a way to cap it off. You could almost hear everyone holding their breath when the ball was in the air. I have never, ever heard the park that dead...and for good reason. Wow, what a way to cap it off. You could almost hear everyone holding their breath when the ball was in the air. You've obviously never been to a game before this year when there were 12,000 fans at some games. I'm sure it was dead the whole time. Honestly for me the defining moment of 05 was Crede's walkoff against the Indians at the end of the year after we had blown the lead in the ninth. That game saved our season last year. I bet most stayed to watch the dramatics. I was there. Actually, yes, many people were dumb enough to leave. Actually, it seemed a lot of people left before the 9th. Which was weird, since it was such a good, tight game. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) Did AJ really toss the bat toward the Tribe dugout? Awesome. I didn't see that, but I DID see him toss his helmet in the air.
bjm676
I was at the game last night. After Jenks was taken out and Thornton was brought in, you could hear a pin drop in the place. When AJ hit the HR, the place exploded. Let's hope this is what happened last year when Crede hit the walk-off against our own David Riske---- give then a kick in the a**

If we play like s*** the rest of the year then this game really didnt matter, but if we pull off some run and make in into the playoffs then this can be considered a defining moment. That was the quietest I've ever heard the stadium, you could just feel the energy sucked out as we watched our playoff hopes go down in smoke.
