southsider2k5
I don't know if anyone has said it yet or not, but could this be our magic, never-say-die moment that propells this team to finally enjoy themselves and kick this s*** into high gear? Felix
I think that after every late inning comeback win, this gets said, and its impossible to tell whether it really is until the games just get played out. If the Sox go on and win the division and make some noise in the playoffs, then sure, this is the season changing moment. But I don't think you can tell until that does/n't happen. How many games like this have we had this year? I can't remember many. I save pics of every game, and I don't have that great of a collection of walk-off pics this year. The closest thing I can remember is Baltimore on the road and Pablo against Oakland. I'm feeling great after last night's game.

I'm feeling great after last night's game. as we were walking down the ramps last night, i'm like "so this is one of those days you feel good about the club." it just seems like everytime we think this is the start of something big, it's not. Now, saying that, I still think this is the start of the run.
GoRowand33
I'd say if this doesn't start a good run, what will? if we don't get on a run and still make the playoffs, then I would consider it pure luck that the twins/tigers didn't take advantage of us Edited September 9, 2006 by GoRowand33
Soxfan in NY
Hey guys I know my post count is a whopping one, but i've been around alot longer, just reading posts since the beginning of last yr...never registered until recently, and just never had the "urge" to post or so you can say. Until now, remember our collasal "skid" last year, i'm sure you all do. What was the one big game/at-bat that seemed to change everything and throw the momentum back in our corner? Joe Crede's walkoff against, none other, than the Indians. I truely hope that this is the same thing.... heres to our first big tear through the season! The Critic
I don't know if that win will start a run, but a loss last night could have crushed the Sox. Thank the baseball gods for that 2-run AJ bomb!!!

The Critic
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) And thank the baseball gods that AJP didn't get the bunt down. I remember yelling at the TV "WHY ARE YOU HAVING AJ BUNT?????" Not because I had a Miss Cleo-like vision, but because AJ never bunts and I was seeing a bunt double-play and a busted blood vessel in my neck. That's a nice way to put it fathom. Very true...but I probably would have said..."thank the baseball gods AJP can't but worth a crap....". Still blows me away he went down and got not that bad of an 0-2 pitch.

Very true...but I probably would have said..."thank the baseball gods AJP can't but worth a crap....". Still blows me away he went down and got not that bad of an 0-2 pitch. He took such a short swing on that pitch. When he first hit it, I thought it had a chance. However, Hawk was quiet for quite a while on that play, and then finally reacted when Sizemore ran out of room.
SoxAce
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) He took such a short swing on that pitch. When he first hit it, I thought it had a chance. To be honest with you, I thought it was a fly ball to the warning track like he usually does. Didn't think he got enough of it.

Didn't think he got enough of it. That's true, but since he hit it towards center field, you had to know it wasn't one of his big swings that he gets off the end of the bat. Ever notice on a lot of HRs by AJ (the ones he does hit anyway)...or even solid line drives...he really doesn't have much of a follow through on his swings after contact. btw...on Hawk's call...took him a while to get goin' on it...but best "MERCY" of the year! Soxfan in NY
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 9, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) We ended up losing that Cleveland series. still though, after that series the white sox turned it on. I think that walk-off HR by Crede was a big, big statement HR for their final stretch.

I think that walk-off HR by Crede was a big, big statement HR for their final stretch. last year the biggest thing for the sox was actully CLINCHING the division. all the pressure was off. THEN they wen't on that crazy f'n streak. i truly believe that if this team gets in the playoffs they will win it all.
