Given the choice between Hillary! and Al, I would vote for Gore in a second.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

And I'd vote for Gore over Kerry, Feingold or Reid, and possibly over Edwards. I'd also vote for Gore over many, but not all, of the current crop of GOP figures in the field.

People underestimate Al Gore. He can win again, and this time, Katherine Harris, Clarence Thomas and Ralph Nader won't be around to help the Republicans.

(Katherine Harris was a hack Secretary of State. [And yes, I am intellectually honest enough to say that most SoS are, but that doesn't make her any less of one.)

(Clarence Thomas: for him and the entire SCOTUS, look here: http://www.thenation.com/doc/20010205/bugliosi [i love the fact that, on a Google search for "None Dare Call It Treason" this is the thing that pops up: None Dare Call It Treason

Five Supreme Court Justices are criminals in the truest sense of the word.])

(Ralph Nader. Well, he won't be around to credibly say that Al Gore is George Bush's twin, separated at birth and not baptised in a pool of alcohol during College.)

I love Al Gore. :)

I'd take Gore over a lot of other cadidates from both sides of the aisle. I'm guessing my early favorite, The Hammer :bang will not be running. (hi Kap) I'd like to see a McCain ticket, on the Dem side, anyone but Hillary, I can't see her winning, no matter how hard the GOP and conservative media tries to paint her the front runner and a lock for the nomination.

Would Gore running be good?

In a word "No."

Same for Hillary. The Dems are going to have to win with a Mark Warner/Russ Feingold/Evan Bayh type guy.... They need a new face.

McCain would be a hands down winner in the general election. He'd unite a good chunk of middle america. A LOT of Dem's would probably vote for him (maybe even myself).

The fact that John McCain might have a difficult time getting the republican nomination is all you need to know about the republican party. He's an absolute winner... respected by practically everyone. Yet, there are concerns that he's not "conservative enough" for many hard-core right wingers. So far, the right has hi-jacked his previous presidential aspirations. If they do it again, it says A TON about what the real republican party is...
