Good grief. Every time she tries to get her life back on track she gets kicked in the face. No matter how crazy she was, she was sure that it did not effect him and he seemed to be a good kid (good in school, stayed out of the limelight, etc).

:pray for her.

Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son dies

By JESSICA ROBERTSON, Associated Press Writer

1 hour, 9 minutes ago

NASSAU, Bahamas - The 20-year-old son of Anna Nicole Smith has been found dead in the Bahamas, where the former reality TV star and Playboy playmate gave birth to a baby girl days earlier.

Authorities had not determined what caused the death of Daniel Wayne Smith, whose body was found Sunday morning, said Robin Bonnema, a spokeswoman for Trimspa, the diet products company that has been endorsed by Smith. Bonnema had no other details, and calls to Smith's lawyer, Howard K. Stern of Santa Monica, Calif., were not immediately returned.

Bonnema declined to provide details, saying only that Smith died "in his bed."

A statement on Smith's Web site said the son died suddenly.

"We have yet to learn the cause of death but do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor," the statement said. "Anna Nicole is absolutely devastated by the loss of her son. He was her pride and joy and an amazing human being."

Walter Evans, a spokesman for the Royal Bahamian Police Force, would say only that the son of an undisclosed celebrity had been found in a room of the private Doctor's Hospital in Nassau.

Anna Nicole Smith, 38, gave birth to a healthy 6 pound, 9 ounce girl at the hospital on Thursday, her Web site said.

Her son had traveled to the Caribbean country "to share in the joy of his baby sister," the statement said. "Please do not make any press inquiries at this time so that Anna Nicole can grieve in peace."

Smith married Texas oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II in 1994, when she was 26 and he was 89. He died the following year. In March, the Supreme Court upheld Smith's right to a bequeathment of $474 million, though legal battles with Marshall's son, Pierce Marshall, have continued.

Daniel Smith had small roles in her movies "Skyscraper" and "To the Limit." He also appeared several times on the E! reality series "The Anna Nicole Show."

Bonnema said she did not know the name of Daniel Smith's father or that of the baby girl.

Smith's Son Died of "Massive Heart Attack"

Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son died of a "massive heart attack" while visiting his mother and newborn sister in their hospital room over the weekend, according to media reports. Daniel Smith had flown to the Bahamas on Saturday to join his mother and was in her hospital room Sunday when he suddenly collapsed. According to The Nassau Guardian, sources say Daniel reportedly suffered a "massive heart attack" and his mother made an unsuccessful attempt to revive him. Police officials immediately put the hospital on a security lock-down and remained tight-lipped about the incident, pending an investigation. Police Press Liaison Officer Inspector Walter Evans confirmed the death on Sunday saying, "This morning a Caucasian male was discovered sometime after 9am. The cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy has to be performed. Once we would have (carried out) an autopsy, (this) would confirm the exact cause of death." Soon after word of the death leaked out, members of the press descended on the hospital and were immediately rushed into a conference room. Hospital staff hustled the baby out into a waiting van, while Anna Nicole's lawyer, Howard K. Stern, rushed out to the hospital parking lot at the same time. Anna Nicole was reportedly whisked out of a backdoor exit, while Daniel's body was taken out through a side door and driven away in a hearse.

Update...

NASSAU, Bahamas - Police investigating the death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son said they had no evidence that he had suffered a heart attack or that drugs were involved.

The cause of death remained under investigation Tuesday.

The Nassau Guardian, citing unidentified sources, reported Monday that Daniel Wayne Smith had died of a heart attack. On Tuesday, the newspaper reported that a preliminary investigation found that Smith had antidepressants in his system. It cited sources close to the case.

Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force, dismissed the reports. "That's just talk, we have no evidence at this time to suggest that," he told The Associated Press, when asked whether drugs had contributed to Smith's death.

Earlier, the commissioner told People magazine that there was no evidence "at this time" that the young man had suffered a heart attack.

Smith died Saturday while visiting his celebrity mother in the hospital three days after she gave birth to a girl.

A funeral home hired by the family said Tuesday it expected to receive Smith's body after an autopsy is completed.

"Once the hospital has released the remains to our establishment, we are then able to process all of the documents for repatriation to California," said Loretta Butler-Turner of Butler's Funeral Homes & Crematoriums.

Police said they were investigating the death as they would any other in the Caribbean country, and they were waiting for a pathologist's report to determine the cause.

"We have got to give them to time to do their job professionally and properly. I wait for them," Ferguson told the AP.

It was unclear whether a coroner had completed the autopsy, or if police would release the results.

"If the family requests that the information not be given out, then certainly, I imagine we would do as they ask," Ferguson said.

Another update.

When Joey was in the hospital and went into arrest we were right there and I couldn't watch for more than 30 seconds as they tried to save his little life. I can't imagine the pain she was feeling watching this unfold.

Hope she's doing ok.

Workers tried CPR to save Smith's son

NASSAU, Bahamas - Police investigating the death of Anna Nicole Smith's 20-year-old son said Tuesday that they had no evidence that he had suffered a heart attack or that drugs were involved.

The 38-year-old reality TV star and former Playboy playmate found her son, Daniel, unresponsive Sunday morning in a chair in her hospital room, where she was recuperating from giving birth to a baby girl, and called for help, according to police.

A hospital official said medical personnel performed CPR and other measures to try to save the young man.

"Resuscitative efforts using advanced life-support protocol continued for 22 minutes without response," Barry Rassin, president and CEO of Doctors Hospital in Nassau, said at a news conference.

Daniel Smith had arrived at the hospital late Saturday to visit his mother, and Rassin said hospital employees saw him "attending to his mother's comfort" during the night.

Dr. Hubert Minnis, obstetrician for Anna Nicole Smith, said she had an "uneventful" Caesarean section at the private hospital on Thursday.

"Both mother and baby are presently doing well," Minnis said at the press conference.

Police said they were waiting for a pathologist's report to determine the cause of death.

"We have got to give them time to do their job professionally and properly. I wait for them," said Reginald Ferguson, assistant commissioner of the Royal Bahamian Police Force.
