Pat Foley signed on as the new voice of the Chicago Wolves.

He must have wanted to stay in Chicago more than staying in the NHL.

Hawky Tawky?

Who the hell posts THERE????

Although....there are probably more posters on that board than fans at the UC when Columbus or Nashville come to town.....

And :P yourself, young man!

I post there!!! :bang

I made a Foley thread over there yesterday - come on Critic, make the jump over there, we could use you.

I'm glad i'll be able to hear Foley call some games this year, that's pretty sweet.

How sad, he makes more with the Wolves than the Blackhawks even offered him

I have to admit, that really surprised me.

I don't know why, nothing cheapskate-related should ever surprise me about The Drunken Andy Griffith and his sons, but I thought a 25-year employee would maybe get better treatment.

It's just a one-year deal, though - I assume Pat will sign one-year deals until an NHL broadcasting job close to Chicago becomes available.

Maybe he can follow John Rooney to St. Louis..... :D

Pat Foley was the only good thing left that the Blackhawks had going for them. They had their history and Pat Foley. One is now gone and a team's history can only draw so much. I can't believe leagues don't step in and force owners to sell when they obviously can't run a team.

The problem is without drastic moves, this team IS history in Chicago.

And that's really just sad.

Because you know if a new owner came in, and things such as local TV blackouts changed, this team could get big, really big. It's really a sleeping giant that may never wake up.

I got to talk with Pat for 5-10 mins last night at the Wolves preseason game. He seemed to be in a great mood and was very, very friendly.

I think after the reception he's been getting from Wolves' fans he's going to be happy with his decision to do the broadcasts, even if it's only for a year.
