True but by the way they where leaning, especially Konerko, I got the sense that they were trying to shoot it the other way.

Actually when a player attempts to pull a pitch on the outer half one of 3 things happen. Either a dribbler to the pull side due to getting the bat head out there. The 2nd is the lazy popup to the right side due to being extended with the bat and just nicking it at the very end. And the 3rd is a K.

 

When a person hits the ball to the right side and is set on it, they usually center the ball up more and drive it to right center. You may see some dribblers to the right side if they dont stay back enough.
