3 BeWareTheNewSox 5
Since the big league club decided to take the 2nd half off and quit, might as well literally give them the last two weeks of the season off and send a message. Sweeney, Anderson, Owens, Fields, Gload, etc should start. Doesn't matter anyways, might as well give them more big league experience. Rowand44
I have no problem at all with this idea. The starters have thrown in the towel so we might as well let the kids play. On a some what similar note, I hope everyone who goes to games from here on out boos this team like crazy. I'm usually not a big fan of booing players a ton but these guys deserved to be booed out of the park.

However, the intensity level by our starters is absolutely sickening. Our fans have been there all year for them, and it's pathetic how they've responded down the stretch. Frank the Tank 35
At this point, we probably stand a better chance of winning if we play the callups.

No. Although it'd be appropriate of Guillen to put McCarthy into the rotation the final week when his presence around the ASB could have made an actual difference. jackie hayes
At least once we get mathematically eliminated, definitely. I'd especially love to see that Anderson kid we drafted a few years back, get him a few ml hacks to help his development.

That might ruin clubhouse chemistry -- or cause panic! I loved the argument earlier that Ozzie knows how to handle his veterans, and that's why he doesn't throw them under the bus like he has Anderson and McCarthy. I'm sure seeing a lot of improvement by Uribe and Pods, since Ozzie supposedly knows how to motivate them.

Rowand44
Ya, leave Brandon alone. It really is pointless to throw him into the rotation now, just let him be. I wouldn't mind seeing Lance get a start though. EDIT: Scratch my Broadway idea as I forgot that he's not on the 40 man. santo=dorf
Let the Fields lovefest begin. So does Bmac still have his name etched in stone for the 2007 rotation?

On the topic of Ozzie and his inability to motivate the guys this year, how exactly was he supposed to motivate the pitchers into not sucking ass??? I still feel that the severe underachievements of our pitchers is the main reason for our failures this year, by far...

So does Bmac still have his name etched in stone for the 2007 rotation? Haha, I was thinking the same thing about Fields. Now, if KW trades him in the offseason, people will go nuts. I have to say though, it was an impressive homer. It's probably the most bat speed we've seen from the Sox in the month.
Jordan4life_2007
I wouldn't mind seeing Gio Gonzalez, Daniel Haigwood or Tyler Lumsden getting a start or two. Maybe give Chris Young a shot in the OF? Oops.

If he would have managed the pitchers better, their ERAs would have been much improved. When you look back at this season, our starters were pretty good during the first 5 innings. However, Ozzie was far too patient with our starters this year. It worked last year, but that was when these guys were more fresh and had better velocity. There were so many times this year when a pitcher saw his stat line go from 6 innings, 2 runs to 6.1 innings, 5 runs.

Kalapse
Damn you pessimists are starting to piss me off, is it just me or do the Sox still mathematically have a chance? They have not been eliminated yet you negative nellies, this team hasn't hit their stride yet. Maybe if you all showed a little faith in this team they could feed off your positivity and win a few. They're only losing games because all you BAD fans don't believe. JUST REMEMBER! DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' HOLD ON TO THAT FELLIN' STREETLIGHT PEEEOOOPPLLEEE!!!
