Damn you pessimists are starting to piss me off, is it just me or do the Sox still mathematically have a chance? They have not been eliminated yet you negative nellies, this team hasn't hit their stride yet. Maybe if you all showed a little faith in this team they could feed off your positivity and win a few. They're only losing games because all you BAD fans don't believe. JUST REMEMBER! DON'T STOP BELIEVIN' HOLD ON TO THAT FELLIN' STREETLIGHT PEEEOOOPPLLEEE!!!

I'm pumped up to go see Freddies 86 mph fastball in person for the 8th time this year...does that count?

Ah, yes, putting it in the hands of our outstanding bullpen after 6 innings each game...

I'd take a fresh bullpen over a tired starting pitcher going into the 7th inning anytime. Up until about a month ago, our bullpen was pretty good this year.

Our new theme song rather then Journey, should be "Wake me up when September Ends" by Green Day

I wish the Twins would have taken this approach with Santana. :(

This isn't meant for you, but people have to stop comparing McCarthy to guys like Santana, Verlander, etc.

I mentioned this in the game thread, but I think it should be repeated: KW better find a way to improve our lineup against lefties next year. We've had no chance this year against Johan, C.C., and Rogers. Hell, sign Graffanino, Eduardo Perez, etc. for the bench.

Let the Fields lovefest begin.

So does Bmac still have his name etched in stone for the 2007 rotation?

That's because no one has seen him strikeout yet. The worst thing possible for this organization would be not to find him another AB this season. He'll be immortalized.

And yes -- McCarthy is in the rotation next season. Can't you see he abandons his changeup out of the bullpen? It's the pitch which defined his turnaround in September last year.

That's what happens when KW ignores the fact that Politte was so much better last year than anyone could have expected and was most likely going to return to be meat again, and ignored the fact that Hermanson was talking retirement at the end of next year. I don't think he will make that mistake again, although what must be going through KW's mind as he watched Thomas and Ordonez circle the bases with multiple home run trots essentially ruining any chance at a repeat. Not that I think either should be here, its just another irony that they are the ones providing the daggers.

I have never compared him to either of those guys, just making a point here(I realize you aren't calling out me). I will go say right now though that if Brandon McCarthy is in our rotation full time next year he'll have an era under 4. If someone would like to bookmark this or whatever to try and prove me wrong then go for it.

Ozzie post game, "We still in a pennant race", what a joke, then he made some comment about if he did not show to play tomorrow he wouldn't have a job or being doing a job. I wish he would retire. Maybe if he's booed enough this week or some reporter gets testy enough he could make a dumb comment. Quick, two guys go kiss in front of Ozzie

Ryan Sweeney was put in the HOF on this board after he hit a broken bat bloop single into LF. I still think Sweeney is going to be better than Fields and will have more career homers.

4.50 if he's in the rotation

And who here honestly wouldn't take that?

I know BMac gave up a three run dinger, but I thought he looked fairly decent. We finally saw his good changeup. He's still missing by just a little bit with his curveball. And his fastball -- well, it's straight. I'd like to see him try and develop a decent two-seamer, something at 87-89 with movement 'in' to righties and away from lefties.

Agreed, thinking that being a good starter automatically translates in the bullpen or that you can compare the two roles is dumb. Fact is that last year BMac (along with Jose) helped saved this team from a real collapse and shut down the top offenses in the league during the final weeks/months of the season, teams who were fighting for a playoff spot. It wasn't broke and they tried to fix it. Vazquez? Ugh. If you have to put him in why ruin the future of McCarthy. Already f***ed with his head with the whole playoff roster thing. Could've just kept El Duque and put him in the bullpen, he showed he could do it at the end of the year and in the playoffs. Gave up a good minor leaguer in that deal too, damn
