Flash Tizzle
LOL, yeah, lets just win 10 straight games during the most crucial part of our schedule when we haven't had such a streak in over a decade. Perhaps longer.
letsgoarow
how about last year in the playoffs and the last week that was like 16 of 17 or something like that
greg775
You won't be optimistic after we lose again today. We won't take 2 of 3 from the Tigers. We're done ... unfortunately.
G&T
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) You won't be optimistic after we lose again today. We won't take 2 of 3 from the Tigers. We're done ... unfortunately. Oh no, I'm certain that this team could win tonight just to make this season more difficult.
Kalapse
QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 01:49 PM) how about last year in the playoffs and the last week that was like 16 of 17 or something like that The Sox won 5 straight to end the regular season last year, they then won the first 3 games in the playoffs only to lose the first game of the ALCS, so that's 8 straight. They then won another 8 straight to end the playoffs. So that's two 8 game win streaks, so yeah 16 of 17. I'm not sure the Sox have ever even won 10 straight games. Controlled Chaos
We won 9 in a row from 6/15-6/24. 10 would be nice, but 9 would put enough fear into the tiggers to collapse.

Steff
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) Neither of those are 10 games. No s*** sherlock. How about if you choose not to be optimistic and not give up you leave those who choose otherwise the f*** alone? Not specific to you kalapse.. but for anyone who simply can't help themselves and s*** on others who remain hopeful.
RME JICO
9-2 in the last 11 games is still possible. That would make things really tight.

Since you were indirectly talking to me, I'll say this: if anyone is willing to say --without reason-- we're going to win-out and do something this club hasn't done in god knows how long, they deserve criticism. How many times has this issue been brought up? Not about blind optimism, but "leaving people alone" when our thoughts done match theirs. How would debate exist on this website if such a belief were honored? Am I supposed to leave posters in their fantasy world when I see something which obviously defies logic? I say "Buehrle sucks and should be traded," I expect a response. Some in support, some opposed. I suggest -- in April -- "our team is underrated," I expect a response. This thread is no different, and shouldn't be given any sort of special treatment.

They are stating simple possibilities and I have seen time and time again them being told they are on crack, high, drunk, stupid, or living in a fantasy world - which is an attack if I recall someone was suspended for telling someone something along the same lines just a couple weeks ago. If you say Mark sucks, yes you should get a response and it should get a response because it's a debatable comment. If I say I think they can pull it out and win because I have faith that's my opinion, you get a big FU if you choose to s*** on me for it. How's that for special treatment. AirScott
I'm conflicted. we beat Detroit tonight, there's 10 games left and 4 to make up. problem is, Tigers have 6 left versus the Royals, agaisnt whom they are 11-1 this season. so maybe the Royals are due to beat them, or maybe they stand a better chance because the last time these two teams played, the Tigers were at their apex and the Royals their apex of crappiness. Minny is 6-9 versus the Royals this year. we need help, but if we win tonight, it's possible to go 8-2 the rest of the way, and if Detroit goes 4-6, we've got a one-game playoff. can this be done? yes, but it's going to take a lot of help. FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(AirScott @ Sep 20, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) the Royals their apex of crappiness.
