Tecmo Bo
That was a tough one to watch indeed. The losses are getting more painful as they come. But at least Minnesota lost, still have to be positive.
greg775
Reasons we suck: Pods, Uribe, BA, all our middle relief, all our starters cept Jon. As well as two of our super subs in Mack and Alomar. And yes Oz deserves blame as well as Cora. Wow ... are we in line for a major rebuilding job suddenly?? I'd hate to be KW. Suddenly looks like he's gotta lot of work to do.

fathom
It's plain and simple...this isn't a good team this season. We're only a few games over .500 when you take out the NL games. We flat out didn't deserve the playoffs.
whitesoxin'
We'd be 3.5 back if we would have at least taken care of business against Seattle these first two games. WTF
fathom
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 04:56 AM) Have to play the teams in front of you. NY,Detroit,Minny all played the NL to. Kenny, you got some work to do. Way more than I thought you were going to have to do. Yes, but was I was saying is that compared to the other teams in our league, we seem to be just average when we play them. A lot of people a few months ago pointed out that the Red Sox would have been under .500 if you took out that NL games....and then they got swept by the Yankees and their season was over. BHAMBARONS
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) Kenny, you got some work to do. Way more than I thought you were going to have to do. -New Blood in the rotation. Its becoming clear Freddy and Count need to be shopped, hard this winter. Josh Byrnes here in zona was talking about wanting to get a pitcher via trade and mentioned that he had a great relationship with KW. greg775
We'd be 3.5 back if we would have at least taken care of business against Seattle these first two games. WTF WTF exactly. How many times have we said this the last month? We are not worthy, like fathom said. We're just not a good enough team. We're not better than Seattle right now. We're not. In fact, we might get swept. It really really is sad. Edited September 23, 2006 by greg775

Drew
I went to Barnes and Noble, ordered a pizza and drained four PBRs while watching Dodgers/Arizona, Houston/St. Louis. Not going to let the boys ruin a rare Friday night off.
FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Drew @ Sep 23, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) I went to Barnes and Noble, ordered a pizza and drained four PBRs while watching Dodgers/Arizona, Houston/St. Louis. Not going to let the boys ruin a rare Friday night off. Don't let PBRs ruin a Friday either, Bro! I'm had the gameday app up on the computer the last two nights and checked in here and there, but I haven't even bothered to watch the broadcasts on the Extra Innings package. I actually went to bed yesterday before the end of the game (sure, I could see what the outcome was going to be), which is something I can rarely bring myself to do even for late noght west coast games. The trial separation between me and the team has begun as I prapare for my winter of discontent. 2007 Version!
Queen Prawn
I didn't even watch more than a total of an inning. It hurts to much to watch this team right now. It's one thing if it is a rebuilding season and the players are at least busting balls, but when they just don't seem to give a damn, I can't be bothered to watch this. I am just thankful the hockey season (okay, pre-season) is here.
elrockinMT
We don't need wholesale changes. We need some fine tuning for sure. However, players do have off years and maybe that's what we are seeing from more players than we would like to see it from, but the cry to trade everyone isn't the right way to go: I have been impressed with Freddie Garcia. He at least has made an effort to improve. Picking up that split finger has made a tremendous difference. I know he makes over $10M though. Trading him might make sense, but we could say that about any player we have. Cotts has failed in the bullpen after a sensational 2005. Why? He gives up way to many homers as does Brandon McCarthy. I just don't see Brandon being the answer in the starting rotation. Pods steals some bases, but his average is down and every year seems to go a bit lower. Anderson shows some good signs once in awhile, but at other times he is simply overmatched. There is always next year

Milkman delivers
Don't worry. This team hasn't quit. That's what I'm told, at least. And we're starting to look stupid for having tied up Contreras long-term.
ZoSo
QUOTE(MSHAWKS @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 11:28 PM) Some second half White Sox stats. Overall record: 28-38 # of winning streaks of 3 games or more: 2 # of losing streaks of 3 games or more: 7 An unmitigated disaster. Man, that's brutal what's in bold there. This team just could not string anything together since the break. 90% of the blame is on the pitching. But they've also gone flat as a team in general. They obviously need a few lineup changes that'll shake things up and inject some life back into this team. The talent is so there and we can easily make a run at another World Series in 07. (just being able to use "another" makes things that much easier to deal with)
WCSox
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) This really is an epic choke job. Not really. This team has had inconsistent pitching all season and hasn't even been the best team in their division. It's not like a trip to the playoffs was theirs for the taking. Frankensteiner
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) Have to play the teams in front of you. NY,Detroit,Minny all played the NL to. Kenny, you got some work to do. Way more than I thought you were going to have to do. -Fix the pen. You can't just count on three guys all the time. Just doesnt work. -New Blood in the rotation. Its becoming clear Freddy and Count need to be shopped, hard this winter. -New LF.Enough said. -New SS. Something needs to be done -Backup catcher. Wheels Alomar aint going to cut it. Not with AJ was his mile long swing. Agree on all points except those there. I wouldn't shop Jose because it seems as if his last two poor outings have been injury related. As we've seen in his starts against Oakland and Boston, he can still dominate a lineup. I don't think the same could be said about Buehrle. Like I've said in the gamethread, watching these last few games makes me think this team is in a worse position for next season than what I thought 2 months ago (and I wasn't particularly high on our chances even then). We need another offensive stud at either SS or LF. That's a must, imo. Then hope for the best with the starting pitching. Although Buehrle's general s***tiness has me wondering whether or not he should be the one going at the end of the season. People will crap on Garcia, but if him coming up with a new pitch has lead to his recent success, then I have a tangible reason to expect a good season from him next year. I don't have any tangible reasons to expect the same from Buehrle or Vazquez.
