Middle Buffalo
I'm pretty sure I'll still be confused 3 years from now when this finally wraps up.
Kyyle23
All I know for sure right now is that it is absolutely impossible to kill Mikhail and Locke. One thing I did notice was that Ben didnt indicate any sort of surprise when Locke showed up.
CrimsonWeltall
My main problem is the stupidity of Jack to not listen to Locke and always believe he is right. Locke is friggin crazy. Also, Jack's dad is dead.
thedoctor
QUOTE(dasox24 @ May 24, 2007 -> 04:43 AM) Wow, I don't even know how to describe how I'm feeling after that. I really wish there were only 2 seasons left instead of 3. And who the hell are the people on the boat that Naomi was with? Who's Nadia btw? nadia is the woman sayid was in love with when he was in iraq. she was a part of his storyline in the first season. she's also turned up in locke's flashback, and then was the arab woman who charlie came to the defense of in his flashback episode last week. BearSox
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2007 -> 09:26 AM) What an incredible episode. The big detail that blew my mind was Jack referring to his dad like he was still alive. I wonder if that was just a drunken slipup, or if that was a big tip to the future? I know I wasn't the only one hoping Jack killed Ben after Ben told Tom to kill the 3 hostages. I was really surprised that he didn't, because what leverage did Ben have to stay alive? The hostages were dead, Ben had no way left of contacting the outside world, or anyway to get anyone off of the Island. I was shocked they let him live. The scene with Kate at the end was incredible. I think everyone's jaw dropped when it was her, and not the Ex who came walking up. But with Kate, how is she not in jail? If she got rescued, shouldn't she still have had those pesky murders hanging over her head? I still want to know who the funeral was for. I guess there are a few possibilities if you think about it. The most convincing to me is Ben. After that I would guess Locke, because he kept trying to make sure they couldn't get off of the Island. Regarding Jack refering to his Dad, he said he was upstairs, in a way kind of saying he was in heaven... That, plus he was drunk and on painkiller, made me think his dad is still dead. maggliopipe
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ May 24, 2007 -> 02:58 PM) You know, this reminds me... way back in the first season, Jack was randomly "seeing" his dad around the island... this was never explained. Now that we know the island has crazy powers and the dead can be alive and people can "not" age, and locke has healing powers... perhaps his father is alive again? oddly enough, its just a thought. The thought did cross my mind, given the island's healing powers and the fact that his dad's coffin/body was in the plane. I think it's great that even though Ben's been exposed as a liar and a POS, I STILL find myself hoping the Losties will listen to him. Case in point, his plea for them to not use the satellite phone. This is a testament to a superb acting job. And Kate looks pretty hot with some makeup on.

Even if the people on the ship are the "bad" guys, wouldn't you take your chances knowing someone from the outside world is coming. That there is an actual way off the island. One other thing I have thought recently is: Why are they always finding new areas of the island. If you were stuck for 90 days and every few days discovered a new hatch or something, wouldn't you send out a team to explore every inch of the island just in case there is something like .. oh I don't know, a radio tower. Like when they found the cable going into the water in the first year, no one thought to go in the water and look, or follow the cable into the jungle. Same thing with the station that had the TVs, where Eko died. You wouldn't want to hang out there? Even if it took a month, you would want to track the shoreline around the entire island. There was a tunnel that lead to the tv hatch that could have been explored as well. I think other then Locke most of the Losties are afraid of leaving the beach for fear of what is out there. The thing with Locke was he was collaborating Ben's story. At that point in time I guess jack did not have a choice. Time to watch season 2 again over the summer. BobDylan
An interesting Lost theory here: http://lost-theories.com/theories/2007/may...xperiment-tale/ It's a long read and revisits the idea of time-travel. It's very well thought out and makes a bunch of bloody sense. I especially like what he says about the smoke monster.

It was written well before the final episodes where discovered who Ben really was in relation to the island and the Dharma group. Also, we can determine that Naomi could be simply lying about them finding 815 wreckage...etc.

Ben isn't with Dharma, they get back to LA post-2004 (not stuck 20 years in the past), etc. And he misuses Schrodinger's Cat. Part of the point of that was to show that quantum properties do not apply to the macroscopic world.

It was written well before the final episodes where discovered who Ben really was in relation to the island and the Dharma group. Also, we can determine that Naomi could be simply lying about them finding 815 wreckage...etc. That's true, but even in the recent scope of things, his theory is still plausable. Some of the details are off--as expected since the theorist is taking stabs at many "hints" from the show--but I don't think his time paradox theory is disproved yet. However, I think when Walt and Michael return in season 4 (which it appears they will), we'll know a lot more about the island than we already do. thedoctor
good read on lost's storytelling interesting. not a spoiler or prediction of the future of the show, but a nice look at how the story is told and how that's helped the show.
