NUKE_CLEVELAND
Gotta love those Slackhawks. They get a new coach, convert a few power plays, and poke their heads above .500 for the 1st time in forever and what happens? They promptly drop their next 6 games. I LOL'ed. EvilJester99
Bulin wall was God awful tonight.... 3 of those goals he had decent looks at and just missed them. Given on one of those Buf stopped his feet and got deeked out of his jock but Bulin should have made that save IMO. Another 2 goal lead gone for naught. IlliniKrush
Bulin had a down game...oh well. He's allowed to have some of those. Problem is the Hawks played like crap after the first 10 minutes of the 2nd. Hitting started to disappear, and their play got really sloppy. That's 2 straight games in which they've blown a 2 goal home lead. 7 straight losses, making it nearly impossible to make the playoffs now. DBAHO
The Hawks just need to ship out the dead weight in terms of veterans (Aucoin, Cullimore, possibly LaPointe) for picks / players with expiring contracts, play the youngsters, and get a top 5 pick in this draft. I know that doesn't sound good, but if the Sox could draft another top notch young forward, then you've a trifecta of Toews, Skille and Kane / Esposito (for example) that could be up with the team in a couple of years. They're on the right path, but Tallon needs to make some moves on the trade front (and not sacrifice the long - term future of the team). And Khabi probably needs a break. So much easier said than done considering their contracts, age, and s***ty play. At least some are sitting/injured, and the young guys are playing...although Buf looks terrible so far Also, i don't know where Kane would fit into Kenny Williams' plans... Its on the Main Page message boards. I call BS. I would call that BS as well...The Ning I believe need to shed some salary. I would swing that deal in a heartbeat though. Another thing it seems as though Salmo is actually starting to "get it" and is playing fairly well of late. But straight up, I'd probably pass.

That said on a couple I thought the defense could have done a better job, but still, Hawks played agressive and were bringing the wood all game. It was cool that I actually got to see a Hawks game and in HD to boot.
EvilJester99
Rumor from Bob Mac.....would great if true but I am not holding my breath. Got this off Stuy's board. To Montreal: D - Adrian Aucoin To Chicago: LW - Sergei Samsonov D - Craig Rivet More on the rumour Bob just said that the Habs have been speaking to the Blackhawks about Adrian Aucoin, who has another 2 years at 4mil on his deal. The teams would be able to swap problems as Aucoin's been a healthy scratch recently. He said the Habs would be interested since they have so many upcoming FA D-men and would like to have at least one under contract Edited January 18, 2007 by EvilJester99
CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 07:09 AM) Not of any importance, but in NHL 07 for the 360, I traded Aucoin and a 2nd round pick for Samsonov yesterday, no joke. How is that game? Worth picking up? I'm in love with Fifa and College Hoops right now... I can play Fifa all day.

DBAHO
Samsonov has become quite the whipping boy in Montreal. I think he's got 2 years left on his deal right? And Rivet has this season left at about 3M? So I'd probably make that deal, because you're getting an expiring contract back, and if Samsonov can perform (think Savard is a fan of his) then we're getting the better end of it. redandwhite
Samsonov is a player that you'll love one day and hate the next. I'd do that trade because he's got all the talent and speed in the world and is rather exciting to watch, but he can be frustrating at times. EvilJester99
Well what do you know both Samsonov and Rivet are both back on the ice for Montreal....so more than likely ANOTHER bad rumor. CWSGuy406
Samsonov seems pretty useless to me. That's what they want Salmaleinen to eventually be, ie smallish guy with crazy wheels. Plus, the Hawks will have at least three forwards coming in from the A or college next year, not to mention potential free agents like Briere, Drury, and Gomez (I'm fairly sure all are FAs at season's end). Unless the Hawks can dump a big ticket player like Aucoin or Khabi without picking up salary in return, they aren't going to be players for big name FAs next year, especially with the barn half empty every night.
