IlliniKrush
Ottawa is playing ridiculously good hockey. If it wasn't for Miller tonight (and a post or two) it's four or five to zero. Ottawa has dominated them in all three zones...so it's a combination of that and Buffalo not quite showing up like they did in the regular season. kapkomet
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 15, 2007 -> 06:01 AM) Ottawa is playing ridiculously good hockey. Ottawa has dominated them in all three zones...so it's a combination of that and Buffalo not quite showing up like they did in the regular season. Ottawa has a nice balance... if Anahiem gets out in the West, Ottawa will lose. If it's Detroit and Ottawa, it's Ottawa's Cup.
Queen Prawn
I was shocked that Buffalo only got 15 shots off last night.
IlliniKrush
Good Christ it's 4-0 Wings not even halfway through the 2nd. The defensive coverage has been atrocius.
The Critic
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 15, 2007 -> 09:17 PM) Good Christ it's 4-0 Wings not even halfway through the 2nd. The defensive coverage has been atrocius. Wings take back home-ice advantage. I have to say, I'm a little surprised at how well the D is playing without Schneider thus far. They finally got some road offense from Holmstrom, Zetterberg and Datsyuk. They had 2 road points between the three of them coming into this game, and got 6 points from them total last night. The Critic
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 16, 2007 -> 03:13 PM) I didn't watch the game last night, but I think I can safely say the reason Anahiem lost is because they didn't shoot enough. Just checked the box score, because I was curious about that, too. Ducks outshot Wings 29-28. But they only got 2 shots on goal in the 2nd. CWSGuy406
Blackhawk news -- WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://www.chicagoblackhawks.com/news/news.asp?story_id=3856 General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have agreed to terms with center Jonathan Toews on a 3-year entry level contract. OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!! Unless Tallon pulls a Martin Havlat trade part two out of his ass, this is going to be the BEST news of the summer. This is awesome -- let the Toews era begin! CWSGuy406
I am so giddy right now. This is so f***ing awesome. It needed to get done, you thought it would get done, but it makes me so freaking happy to see it finalized. Don't confuse my giddiness for ignorance. The Hawks are still a long ways from the playoffs, no doubt, but the Hawks are building the right way and it's good to see that it's slowly starting to pay off. Next year is going to be a very exciting season for true Blackhawk fans... Toews AND possibly Skille on the team next year, along with Barker, Seabrook and Ruutu? Unbelievable. You're also going to have rookies like Bolland, Bickell, and Brouwer competing for spots, along with one of the most exciting players in all of hockey in Havlat. This f***ing rocks. Honestly, I could care less if the Hawks "strike out" in free agency this winter. Just shed one (preferably both) of those bad defensemen contracts (Aucoin + Cullimore) and lets go to training camp. I'm so f***ing happy. Edited May 17, 2007 by CWSGuy406
IlliniKrush
Toews, pronounced Taves. Get used to it people, you are going to hear that name a lot in the coming years. This is f***ing epic news, we can finally relax with this big thing out of the way Keith. Fantastic. I absolutely cannot wait to watch him at the UC next year. whitesoxfan101
The guy pronounces his own name wrong, but this is simply fantastic news. He's a great player, I can't wait to see him in the Indian head sweater next year.
IlliniKrush
Quack. Edit: Now both teams have won a game in which they were outplayed. Even Steven. Edited May 18, 2007 by IlliniKrush

The Critic
Ottawa advances to the Finals! Now I have reason to watch the Finals, even if the Wings don't get there. An Anaheim-Buffalo Finals would have had me reaching for the remote.

Spiff
QUOTE(Sonik22 @ May 19, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) Go Ducks! I hopped on the Sens bandwagon in the New Jersey series because the Devils are boring as s*** and need to die. Now I'm really glad they mad the finals, they are a cool team. It's funny though, the top line is doing all the scoring, Phillips and Volchenkov are blocking shots, and the rest of the team is just doing whatever they can to not f*** it up. Even Emery, he's been good but it's not like he's stood on his head. He just gets in position and stops the puck. Although I will say that McAmmond is ridiculously good at killing penalties and they win every faceoff they ever have.

whitesoxfan101
Detroit is definitely outplaying the Ducks, but Gugiere is just standing on his head. Not much you can do about it, he's playing like he did a few years ago during their other great playoff run.

IlliniKrush
That, my friends, is why you don't come up the middle out in front of your own net on the breakout. That's a hockey sin right there, plain and simple.
CWSGuy406
Jonathan Toews will wear #19 next year for the 'Hawks -- so you folks with old Calder jerseys are pretty lucky. Toews will also be introduced to the media sometime next week, per CBH.com.
