santo=dorf
My account at sportsbook.com has been disabled and the rep over the phone told me it had to do with the state I was living in passing a new law. Is this a state or national thing? Anybody else using other sites having problems? Is poker still ok? I don't bet that much, certainly not a significant percentage of my paycheck, but what is the point of this? People are just going to start betting with ILLEGAL bookies padding the pockets of the true criminals. Sounds like the war on drugs. Just checked my spam box With the recent passing of law effecting financial institutions’ transactions with online gaming companies, Sportsbook.com’s parent company, Sportingbet PLC, has decided to stop taking wagers from customers in the US effective immediately. Does this mean you can’t bet on sports or play blackjack online anymore at Sportsbook.com? Hell no. Sportsbook.com is open for business as usual. Better than usual, in fact, see below. Sportingbet PLC has sold Sportsbook.com to the existing management team and a group of investors who are continuing to run Sportsbook.com just as always—or perhaps even better than before. So, as always, your transactions remain secure, your details completely confidential and your account safe with eGaming Review’s number one US facing sports book for the second year running-- Sportsbook.com If you have any questions about this change, please email [email protected] or call us on 1-800-632-6088. pierard
Yes, online gambling took a big hit today; but at least our ports are safe!
CWSGuy406
Yup; online gambling is just going to go underground. I really don't understand why the US doesn't regulate it; they'd make an absolute killing $$$ wise if they would just regulate it. Bastards... santo=dorf
Good Lord. Sportsbook is charging $30 for a withdrawl via a check through Fedex or an e-check. It used to be free. Congress can blow me. This is just going to put more money in the pockets of the mob and other illegal bookies.
Texsox
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Oct 13, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Good Lord. Sportsbook is charging $30 for a withdrawl via a check through Fedex or an e-check. It used to be free. Congress can blow me. This is just going to put more money in the pockets of the mob and other illegal bookies. Just a small clarification, these are/where illegal. These forms of gambling where never legal. It just took congress this much time to figure out a way to rewrite the old laws to apply to new technology. Did you happen to notice that none of the companies had their servers or offices in the US?
