Some interesting things:

Work left to do:

Illinois [18-9 (6-6), RPI: 36, SOS: 16] Game effort at Indiana, but the Illini missed out on what could have been a really big road win. Illinois will have its chances to get to 9-7 in the conference. The SOS is good. The RPI is questionable for an at-large. Despite all that, Illinois might be fourth in the conference pecking order right now.

Should be in:

Kansas State [18-7 (7-3), RPI: 45, SOS: 103] Rolled past Colorado to help salve the sting of the flop in Lawrence. The net result is fine for the 'Cats, though. Cartier Martin & Co. still have some very winnable games (at Colorado, home to Iowa State) left to improve their position. The win over USC looks good. The 30-point loss to Cal doesn't.

Now lets break down the Illinois record:

18-9 (6-6 big 10)

2 losses to top 5 teams (OSU and Wisconsin)

18-7

And of those 3 were to top 25 teams at the time (2 of them on the road)

And lets look at K-State:

18-7 (7-3) big 12

2 of their losses were to top 15 teams away so we can take that out:

18-5

Of those losses, none were against top 25 teams.

I just dont understand how K-State is in, and Illinois is not. Unless the Big 12 gets 2 auto bids, one for north/south?

So which is a better resume:

18-5 with losses to unranked teams

or

18-7 with losses to 3 ranked teams, 2 of them on the road.

Kstate also lost their best player for the entire year.

Well correct me if Im wrong but 2 things:

A) Since Walker has been out they have done better.

B. Walker wont be playing in the tournament, so why should they make it just because they over came adversity? That does not make them a better team, it just makes them a better story.

Now I think both K-State and Illinois are at the same place. I just dont understand how 1 win against Texas by 1 point makes K-State a better team.

Especially if Texas was in the Big 10 they would be about the 6th best team in the conference (they already lost to MSU) and there only good win was against a vastly over rated LSU. Texas's hype is based on Durant, not on the team being any good.

The problem is because the big 10's top 2 teams are so good, the rest of league is getting a bad rap.

Big 10's 2 best teams > Big 12 2 best teams

By a pretty sizable margin.

Kansas would be 3rd in the Big 10, A&M 4th or 5th (thats including Kansas).

Wisconsin and OSU would be 1,2 in the Big 12.

A&M is better than both Wiscy and tOSU. KU is the 4th best out of that bunch though imo.

A&M is damn good. Rush could shut down Tucker and no one else on that team is a real weapon. we could just guard the 3's

Who on Wiscy is going to stop Sherron and Julian??

KU would have no chance against Wisconsin.

The only type of team that can beat Wisconsin is disciplined on both ends of the court.

As for A&M beating KU, thats like saying Indiana beat Wisconsin.

Does that mean IU is better than KU?

No it just means that:

1) Kansas is not that great of a team. Top 5 teams almost never lose at home, especially when they are the higher ranked team. The only reason for this is because Self is not a very good coach. KU has the talent to go undefeated at home every year, they just do not have the coaching.

2) IU is one of the pre-eminent programs in the last 50 years. 5 national titles, to win at Assembly hall you have to flat out beat Indiana. Wisconsin did not play well enough to over come that.

Now who as A&M beaten outside of the Big 12?

I see a loss to a bad LSU team, a loss to UCLA, the rest of the ranked teams they have played have been all Big 12 opponents.

Does not really address the argument of why Big 12 teams should be getting respect.

Its clear you have not watched a single Badger game. Otherwise you would know the answers:

Sherron: Mike Flowers

Julian Wright: Krabbenhoft, Landry.

Both of those guys are not much better than players that Wisconsin has already played and handled.

How would you stop the flex offense?

How would you keep your players out of foul trouble?

Wisconsin has 3-4 guys who can play legimiate C position, hows Sacha Kohn?

We have Kaun, Arthur, and Jackson along with Julian. Our Center depth is just fine.

So have I, and I think the Big 12 is vastly over rated.

We shall see come tourney time, old scores and results dont matter when the real games count. Hey maybe a return to the glory of round 2...god damn you self.

We have Kaun, Arthur, and Jackson along with Julian.

Kaun 6-11

Arthur 6-9

Wright 6-8

Jackson 6-8

Considering that Wisconsin plays 3 players with that height at one time, hard to list them all a C's.

Butch- 6-11

Steisma 6-11

Chappel- 6-10

--

Krabbenhoft- 6'7

Landry 6'7

Notice how our SF are the same size as 1 of your C's.

I defintely think youd have trouble.
