whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 02:27 PM) I haven't posted in here much this year, because it has been kind of a cesspool this year, but Bruce Webber on the hot seat? Come on. The guy is going to get fired because of a mediocre half season, filled with injuries? I thought Sox fans were demanding. Also with that signature... I wonder how many people are saying the samething about recruits signing up by the boatload to be on Illinois's 2-9 football team? Hey, I wonder how Zook does it too, so your preaching to the choir. And, of course, it doesn't matter what I think, it matters what the boosters think. And they are pretty pissed, now tonights win will quiet them down somewhat (although, Indiana could not have possibly played worse, so it was a bit of fools gold). And you know what? They should be pissed about recruiting, when we recruited well, the wins were all over, and the recruiting sucks the last few years, and the team is falling off. It's not a coincidence. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) So then he's upset at Sampson.. but.. for what? According to Peyton Manning, Bill gave him plenty of praise. That's not the point. Illini fans shouldn't bad mouth Belichick if they stand by Weber, a person Belichick should take a s*** on in terms of what they have accomplished in their respective sports. He's upset at Sampson because it's a tired excuse to try and hide his pathetic recruiting. I agree with that, but Belichick is still as big a douche as anybody in sports, and even a Patriots homer should know that.
redandwhite
The worst part about tonights loss is just how much I hyped them up to my dad. He watched the Butler game, the Duke game, the Kentucky game, the Ohio St game.. I kept telling him to stick with this team and that we've been mixing and matching, hitting our shots, and just playing all around grade A basketball. He finally tunes in on Saturday and liked what he saw for the most part but blamed part of it on UConn being a "bad team." So I finally tell him to tune in tonight and that we had a chip on our shoulder. Ugh.

IlliniKrush
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 01:11 PM) Well, if Weber isn't on the hot seat yet (which based on the chatter of the only people that matter in college athletics, the boosters, he is) he's certainly be after a loss tonight. A loss tonight to the team that outdid him for the only good recruit he ever had, on ESPN, on the home floor, eliminating the Illini from the tournament, officially starts a clock that may reach zero by the end of next season. I wouldn't mind it pesonally, I'd love to see a coach that can actually bring in players that can do something. Only guy worth a damn Bruce has brought in is Pruitt. Go back into your hole, you're a pathetic excuse for an Illini fan. Nice grind it out game tonight, we needed that win much more than IU did. Good to see some guys stepped up without Randle on the floor as well. Pruitt is proving to be a beast as of late.
RockRaines
Thank you Illinois. Guess the ranking didnt last long for IU. Big Ten play is going to cause ALOT of these games this year. Watch out everyone.

Rowand44
QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) The King of MVC Kings, are back on their throne! DAWGS! UNI could not miss a 3 and we could not make a shot but we somehow managed to pull it out. Randal was real solid again, though we kind of went away from him in the 2nd half, which we can not do cause there is nobody in the league that can guard him. Mullins was the star, he was absolutely phenominal. Big win and it feels great to finally have sole possession of this league, even if it's only for one night. Rowand44
QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) And FSU? Hell of a win by BC. Damn nice shot. 26 for FSU and 48 for ND Here are some rpi sites: http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html http://warrennolan.com/ http://kenpom.com/rpi.php And here's the official one that gets updated once a week: http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/2007MBBrpi1.html? My apologizes for not being a schill. The Illini RPI is much better than I thought, but Randle might be out for a while now, so good and bad. And I don't know how SIU wins games, but it's fun to watch them invent ways to win games every time they play. And OT, but to be fair, Bernsie had no idea what he was talking about with Scheyer, and Bruce never had a shot at Scheyer anyways, he's been a Duker boner since birth basically. That and I never was impressed by Scheyer anyways. Edited January 24, 2007 by whitesoxfan101

Impressive considering where we were before that UConn game, looking at 0-3 in the BE without that 'W'. Ten games left in the BE, but six of them are at home. Someone else is going to have to step up and take down Pitt, though... And we can't have anymore letdowns, especially tonight at home vs Seton Hall. whitesoxfan101
Marquette, Nevada, and USC are the 3 most underrated teams in the land right now IMO. 3 very, very good squads, and if your looking for this years mid major cinderella, Nevada and Butler are lapping the field as the #1 and #2 candidate (in any order), with Air Force a DISTANT 3rd. I'd put Nevada over Butler though, as Butler plays nobody above 6'7, and Nevada does have decent depth in terms of bigs, led by Fazekas obviously. Well the matchups are just plain wrong as we wouldn't face Arkansas in the first round. The 7 seed at this point is probably pretty accurate though. BTW, BB game is announced on Monday, it's looking more and more like we're going to get Butler, hopefully that's the case.

Kyyle23
QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) Lowest scoring game ever. Two good defensive teams. Will have to type a trash talking e-mail to an old friend of mine as well. Im excited about the emergence of Bone into the lineup, he gives the Salukis a different look, a scorer alongside Tatum that will let Young defend the way he needs to. Young has taken on an offensive mindset that has made his defense suffer. Shaw and Falker have become beasts inside though, especially Falker. He is damn near unstoppable at times, although he needs to start dropping some free throws soon. Last year about this time he started hitting all of his free throws and he was able to reel off all those double double games.
danman31
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 24, 2007 -> 07:30 PM) NU looking good. They're playing cocktease with me though. I have the UNC-Wake game on, but I'm barely paying attention. They do one of those updates and NU is winning 20-11. I didn't even think to follow the game for my sake. I get the WGN radio feed and gamecast going and Ohio St. goes on a 12-0 run after that scoreline (10 of which I was listened to). Weird end to the half as the Cats had a 24-23 lead but Ohio St. got a bucket and 2 foul shots somehow. Now clock problems, the last 40 seconds of the half have taken forever and just ended. 27-24 OSU at half.
