That Kobe guy is pretty good.

Might be an even more explosive scorer than MJ. And when I say explosive, I mean to the ability to put up a ridiculous amount of points in a short period of time. In no way does he come close to Jordan was a scorer overall.

Bulls are an even 40-30 after their win last night. What a great ending that game had, Tyrus with the amazing tip in with 00.2 left to win it by 1 point.

And even a Kobe hater like me realizes that Kobe will retire as a top 10 player ever, and if he wins another title or two, a top 5 player.

I love Tyrus Thomas, he has the potential to be so damn good.

I guess i have been a little behind, but who is the likely rookie of the year in the nba?

Oh they are already engraving Brandon Roy's name on that trophy, especially with Bargnani out for a while with the appendicitis.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 23, 2007 -> 01:50 PM)
But what about Morrison and his 37% from the field, lower FT%, lower 3P%, less ppg, boards, blocks and assists than Roy? What a colossal pile of s*** that guy is going to be.

Personally, I'll enjoy watching redick fail more.

And, once he got back from his injuries, Roy was gonna be ROY (yes, I know, already has the name too) even before Bargnani's season ended unless Bargnani made a monster ending push.

I enjoy watching the both of them fail, I don't necessarily prefer one over the other and being a big Roy fan myself makes it just that much sweeter.

Reddick does have a DUI to his name, a 0 dimensional game, a pissload of ACC backed hype and that prickish Dukey grin but Morrison has the ridiculous mustache, the Larry Bird hype and the crying like a pussy on his head. It's impossibly to choose.

Anything short of winning, like, 5 more titles, there's not a thing he can do that will put him above MJ, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Wilt and Russell. Those guys are out of his reach.

Tyson with 22 points and 22 rebounds?

God damn does that guy suck. What a bust....

His impressive display of "help defense" is why Kobe scored 50. He must have hit at least a dozen shots with Tyson pathetically lunging at him. However, Tyson is having a great year, I still contest he'd have never been more than what he always was here, he needed a change of scenery.

Still amazes me that you luv this guy when you're so obsessed with defense and his defense (especially man-to-man) is so mediocre...

Give me his height and wingspan and I'm blocking 2+ shots a night with my eyes closed (...along with developing a post move and/or shot, building muscle and strength, etc., etc., etc.). And don't give me the crap "altered shots" argument.

But anyways, you're obviously cherry-picking stats on what was probably his best statistical performance of the season. Everybody knows he can rebound and this was his first (and probably last and only) game of more than 20 points this season. KG (remember when tyson was being billed as the next KG?   ) had 22 boards last night too and it's so nice to see him about win a rebounding crown.

Eddy Curry went for 27 and 9 last night (I can cherry-pick stats too) and is having a very good year also, but that doesn't mean I don't consider him a bust too. Nice to see them both improving their game with time, finally, and their changes of scenery, but based on how high they both were drafted, the lofty expectations, and what was given up to get them, specifically tyson, they will always be busts in my book. I don't see how going from a number 2 pick to being a serviceable, one-dimensional role player is not being a bust. Maybe not a complete, utterly worthless bust like chris washburn, but a serviceable bust like many others have been.

And, right or wrong, I'm always going to compare those guys the Bulls traded in drafts like Brand for tyson and aldridge for tyrus. aldridge had a nice game too.

On a completely unrelated note, it looks like Ben Wallace is going the stephon marbury route in wearing and selling 15 dollar basketball shoes through steve and barrys. Pretty cool, in my opinion.

Bulls won last night, but the game reminded me why I wanted us to take Aldridge over Thomas. Thomas might be really good eventually (I would say yes), but Aldridge is your legit 6'11 post scoring 4 to go along with Ben Wallace if you have him.

Yeah, I agree, although I'm not so sure abot just how good tyrus will be. I'm having trouble envisioning him as a legit starting star PF, or anything more than an energy guy off the bench at this point, but hopefully he really can make the huge strides he'd have to make. Not saying aldridge will be a star, but he looks like the much more sure bet to be a solid player so far and would probably have helped the team out more in the present, in my opinion.

And here's one of the worst pieces of crap I've read on espn, and that's saying a lot. Somebody sent me the link trying to get me mad. :P

Another reason why women should not talk sports.

I like how she claims kobe is just as good a defender as Jordan. And I literally laughed out loud when she said vince carter, mcgrady, and lebron are better defenders than joe dumars because they're bigger. Apparently today's NBA is tougher.

I realize that kobe had those consecutive 50-point games and had 82 in a game last year, but does she even know Jordan had a 37 PPG season?? Whether it be mid-80s Jordan (when he was in kobe mode and did it better) or 90s Jordan, there's zero doubt who the better and more talented player is. I take Jordan over kobe, whether it be one-on-one or any scenario, always.

I think you could make a case that Kobe is as good, if not a better scorer, than MJ was.....however MJ was WAY better at literally every single aspect of the game, so it's no contest. The other interesting thing is that Kobe is having MJ's career in reverse. MJ nearly killed himself scoring a ton of points and winning by himself until one of the 50 greatest players helped him win titles, wheras Kobe did it in reverse order.

If Kobe hadn't run Shaq out of town, thus maybe winning another ring or two, he'd have helped himself in the MJ debate in terms of resume. But even then, it's still not that close in terms of overall resume or level of all around play. Kobe is still going to retire as one of the 10 best players ever though IMO.

I leaned strongly towards Aldridge before the draft, but the more I watch Thomas, the more I think the Bulls made the right choice. Tyrus is a year younger than Aldridge, but when you count how each of them have performed per minute of game time, Thomas gets almost 2x the amount of blocks per minute, 1.2 times the number of rebounds per minute, and .9x the amount of points per minute. In other words, they're almost the same on scoring, but on the defensive parts, Thomas has so far been significantly more productive in the time he's been given.

It's still an open question how they'll develop, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Bulls made the right choice.

I like Thomas a ton more, he has really improved in the last month and is becoming a force. Where has Sefolosha been?
