GoodAsGould
I think you guys are over-rating Chris Paul a bit. He is really good... but I wouldnt go out and say that Deron Williams has no chance to be as good if maybe not better.

This coming from a guy who hates Paul(stemming from his college days). He is a stud... but in my opinion Deron has more potential. Chris Paul is probably going to always be a better scorer. But I think Deron has more vision running the point and he is a better defender. Plus their numbers are pretty similar right now too and I think Paul has reached more of his potential than Deron has. DBAHO
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) Deron has absolutely no chance of being as good as Chris Paul (Paul has a great ceiling and is already lightyears better than Deron). I like Deron too, but that was an idiotic move the Jazz made. Well I don't know if CP3 would have been a "great" fit in the Jazz system. Sloan and O'Connor wanted Deron over Paul pretty much because he's bigger, tougher and stronger defensively. You know how much Sloan values defense and toughness from his coaching over the years. And I'd say Deron has become the "star" player on that team already, and will be a top 5 PG by the end of the season. I picked him up in 3 of my 4 fantasy drafts (Hammer had to take him in the other) at around picks 60-75. Right now he's looking like a HUGE steal. knightni
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Nov 13, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) Knicks lose again. Make that 2-6. They should be 0-8. God I can't wait until draft night. Say it with me... Wallace, rebounds... passes downcourt to Oden!
DBAHO
So not exactly a great start to the season for the Bulls is it? 3-6 now, and the Knicks actually have a better record now at 4-6 after their win over a Shaqless Miami today. As for Orlando things are going very nicely right now (knock on wood). 6-3 and our depth at the guard position is really amazing right now, as Bogans only gets about 5 mins a game, and the likes of Diener and Redick don't get any gametime which pretty much wouldn't be the case on any other NBA team. Have you seen Boozer? Anyways...I took Dwight in another league, but I only saw him when he dominated the Bulls. Why in the world doesn't he take many, many, many more shots??? And what's up with all those TOs?

Boozer can't play D and gets in Sloan's doghouse quite often. He's been mentioned in trade rumors ever since he got to Utah although that's quieted down a bit lately. As for Dwight, so many teams are double teaming him after the Chicago game, and we're having trouble getting the ball to him down low because of this, hence the less shots and more TO's. He'll work through it though.

The schedule is brutal, but I thought they'd be 5-4 right now. I figured they'd beat Sac Town and Houston, but they didn't (although should have). Maybe this is just another 42-40, 6 or 7 seed playoff team, boo. Oh, and Utah is 8-1 and Deron had 27 and 8 tonight. MVP!! MVP!!! Also, Miami might be in trouble. 3-5 isn't good, Shaq out 4 to 6 weeks minimum isn't good, and losing at home by 24 to the Knicks is a prime sign that they are in for a bad stretch. Deron was in foul trouble early on as well. Most improved player in the NBA right now. And I really think Orlando has a chance at taking the Southeast Division as well. Miami look very lethargic at the moment. As for the Bulls, they're just having problems scoring, and when they can't hold teams to say under 90 points defensively, they're going to struggle to win. Miami seems happy with those rings from last year. My preseason prediction was Orlando to win the southeast, and I got laughed at, so I hope it happens so I get last laugh though. And the Bulls biggest problem is they can't play any defense to be honest. Tonight they just got beated on, but most of these losses (Dallas, Houston, Sacramento) were because the defense didn't show up. DBAHO
And the Magic keep on rolling. Some stat lines tonight; Dwight Howard - 24 points, 21 rebounds. Darko Milicic - 14 points, 8 boards, 4 blocks, 3 assists, 2 steals. And with Cleveland losing, we're going to be tied on top of the East. Nice achievement considering where this franchise has been over the past 5 years.

WilliamTell
The Jazz made that trade because they thought Williams fit their system better than Paul. But with that being said I would've taken Paul and another player over Williams.

CWSGuy406
The end of this Bulls game has been absolutely sickening. They've missed about seven jump-shots in a row. Not one guy on the team can get to the basket when they need it. They had the Deng/Walton matchup but chose to let Gordon and Hinrich jack up threes. Deng did get the ball once and, rather than make a move to the basket, took a jumper a half of a foot in front of the three point line. It's tough... From the bits and pieces that I've watched of this game, it looks like they got a pretty good defensive effort. With these free throws, LA is going to end up scoring ~80 points. That's solid, but when you can't score, it really doesn't mean a whole lot. Paxson is in a tough spot, too. I'd assume that the Knicks will end up finishing in the bottom ten, so I wouldn't necessarily want to package that pick, but this team needs a "go-to" guy offensively. Also, Daisasuke Matsuzaka was at the game (for those who didn't see). He's a Bulls fan, so, in games he doesn't pitch against the Sox, I will certainly be rooting for him. WHarris1
The Bulls are just playing disgusting basketball right now, unbelievable. It's hard to win in this league when you get absolutely no easy buckets and don't get many FTA's. You need someone you can go to when things aren't going well to get a big bucket - Ben Gordon doesn't seem to be that guy. DBAHO
The Bulls need a scoring PF. With the way their offense is, they can't have 2 guys in Brown and Wallace only average together about 15 points a game. Webber's not a good idea because of his contract, age and lack of D. But if I'm John Paxson, I'd be acquiring after guys like Carlos Boozer, Zach Randolph, Troy Murphy etc. Or they could just blow the team up and go for Garnett. RockRaines
This trip is always brutal for the Bulls, but still they are a better team than their record. I still think the one big superstar we are looking for is already on the team in the form of Luol Deng. We need to play the ball more through him on the wing and let him create.
