Brian
Stevenson At Palatine Libertyville At Rolling Meadows Kaneland at North Chicago Lake Zurich at Deerfield Next weekend could be great if things work out. Carmel vs. Lake Zurich and Libertyville vs. Prospect would both be sweet match ups.

matt
Libertyville got upset tonight by Rolling Meadows 16-15. My Mustangs won 49-21. Next week, they'll either play Plainfield South or Morgan Park.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(Brian @ Nov 3, 2006 -> 11:13 PM) Stevenson loses Libertyville loses North Chicago loses Lake Zurich wins I can't see anybody beating LWE in 8A, they are simply too good. And I CAN'T BELIEVE that Libertyville lost, they must have really played badly. Also, in what might have been game of the week statewide IMO, East St. Louis came from behind to beat Edwardsville, 33-27. They are going to run Providence off the field next week IMO, I know Providence is hot but the athletes from the ESL are going to cause them a disaster. ESL/Plainfield South as a final 4 would be great. And that brand new Western Sun league is still undefeated with Kaneland beating the hell out of North Chicago, as well as Batavia winning 40-37 over St. Viator in what sounds like was a classic game. Tomorrow, that league has Rochelle hosting Sterling and Geneva hosting Hubbard. Both teams are at home, but those are tough games for both. I could see LWE losing to MC in the semis or in the finals against WWS. I also don't see Providence being run off the field. Not saying they will win, but I think it will be a close game no matter the outcome. Providence is a very tough team and they are hot when the time is right. Brian
Don't count WWS out. LWE has had trouble scoring this year, but their defense is tough. I would think Wheaton Warrenville South would be the best 8A match up.
whitesoxfan101
Dixon won over previously unbeaten Robeson of the CPL 18-8 at the game I was at. Robeson scored their TD and 2 early as Dixon had to adjust to their incredible speed, but Robeson's lack of size was exposed in the 2nd half as their QB was under all kind of pressure, leading to several turnovers, and Dixon gradually ran it down their throat, scoring 18 in a row in the 2nd half to win it. The Western Sun is 7-1 now and had 3 of their 4 teams left as Geneva knocked out that very talented Hubbard team, but Rochelle lost to Sterling. And wow, Morgan Park beat Plainfield South? That's a huge upset, MP was supposed to be down this year, but it looks like East St. Louis has a cakewalk to Champaign now. Damnit, I know both will be underdogs, but I'd love to see Dixon and Sterling win. For those not familar with the geography of the area (everybody), Dixon and Sterling are bordering towns that are very similar in size, and if both win next week, the 2 would play for a trip downstate. That would be an UNREAL atmosphere.

whitesoxfan101
QUOTE(soxsr08 @ Nov 6, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) So does anyone believe the Celtics can pull it off against ESL? I for one do. I suppose they COULD, but I wouldn't count on it. ESL beat an Edwardsville team that is a lot better than Providence, on the road, last game, and this one is all the way down in ESL. ESL's speed is going to give Providence nightmares as well, and ESL's lineplay is disciplined enough to get a few stops. However, that side of the bracket is very intriguing. The style clashes in both games with St. Rita and Morgan Park as well as ESL and Providence will be fun to see. Combine that with Boylan, who still isn't getting enough credit, against Lake Zurich and Prospect hosting a team that just shocked Libertyville, and 7A is the most intriguing bracket left IMO. Road looks good for Lake Zurich to win state. Yes, and according to many it looked good for ESL to win state up until tonight. Oh, and Providence was suppose to be one and done. In other words, I wouldn't count anyone out in 7A.
whitesoxfan101
I've given up on 7A, East St. Louis must have forgot to bring helmets tonight to lose that badly to a down Providence team.
Sonik22
Why didn't anybody listen to me when I said Lake Zurich was for real! I go to school with these guys and watch them play every weekend, we can win state! We should have beat libertyville but our kicker (fellow junior) blew every chance! I don't want to get ahead of myself though because Boylan-Rockford is a tough team so we'll see when that game is over.

I wouldn't say PC is down. All they needed was to come together. They lost by only one point in week one versus LWE and by 3 to Rita. Providence is very solid and cannot be overlooked, and, at this point in time, if any team overlooks another they don't deserve to be in the playoffs. Prospect will still be tough. 3 out of the last 5 state titles, you have to go through them to win it all but I like Lake Zurichs chances. Todays game vs. Rockford Boylan will be streamed online at wrok.com starting around 12:30pm.
Sonik22
Lake Zurich 24- Rockford-Boylan 20! Final 4 baby! But there is bad news one of our defence's best players is in the hospital right now from a broken rib and a pierced lung so pray for him! His name is Kyle Skarb and he's a 2-star prospect that has commited to NIU so pray for him.

Unfortunatley, he is out for the rest of the playoffs and they will definetly of needed him vs. Prospect if that comes to fruition.

High school football is huge in a lot of the USA. I dare you to go to West Texas and say that to someone. It is fun and about bragging rights. What should I expect from a Boilermaker. Ok so I get Texas is psycho about football..I know a guy from Texas who can validate this. AND I understand how you can rip on Purdue..we haven't been hot this year or the past couple of years. But seriously...remember high school and how funny it was to think things actually mattered then??
