greg775
When do you think KW will trade one of our starters to make room for Brandon? Anybody have a prediction on the date? I say it'll be in mid December.
Kalapse
Rowand was dealt the week of Thanksgiving last year, KW likes to get these things started early.

Rowand44
I expect Juan Pierre or Dave Roberts to be signed rather soon.
SoxFan1
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) Rowand was dealt the week of Thanksgiving last year, KW likes to get these things started early. I'll never forget the phonecall that I got when I heard the news. Driving to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 20 feet of visibility and roads paved in ice. At that moment, I really missed Aaron Rowand. I still really miss Arow, but Thome alleviated some of the pain. My prediction for Move #1: November 22nd Edited October 29, 2006 by SoxFan1
beck72
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) I expect Juan Pierre or Dave Roberts to be signed rather soon. I expect Roberts to stay on the west coast. With his hamstrings and ties to the west, I don't see him wanting to play in the cold of the midwest. witesoxfan
QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) third day of the gm meetings, when are those again? and FA starts saturday, at least thats when player can file, right? when can you start signing? Several players already have filed for free agency, as you can file the second the World Series is over.
TLAK
QUOTE(Shamrock4Life @ Oct 29, 2006 -> 10:54 PM) third day of the gm meetings, when are those again? and FA starts saturday, at least thats when player can file, right? when can you start signing? November 13-17, 2006: General managers meeting, Naples, FL December 4-7, 2006: Winter Meetings, Orlando, FL If I understand it right, there are no longer any restictions on signing players under the new CBA. No more Dec 7 deadline to offer arbitration, either.
shawnhillegas
I predict the Carl Crawford for Scotty Pods deal to happen today.
SoxFan562004
I think since KW is likely looking to move a SP he may wait until Zito, Schmidt and the Japanese pitcher are signed. That way he may be able to get a lot from the teams that lost out on a FA pitcher.
Chisoxfn
The Winter Meetings will probably be a good time for that. Or at least a real good time to see what the market is for these guys.
klaus kinski
I think it will be later-with starting pitching to offer, he will listen to offers and its wise to wait because someone will improve ,prompting the value of what we have to increase in the eyes of a competitor

kwolf68
He already has, a quiet move that I really like Luis Terrero, signed up for a 1 year deal. He is 26 and plays a very good defensive center field. While he flamed in his short time in Baltimore, he was a very solid hitter in AAA last year. I have said all along we need contigencies for Anderson. Whether or not you think Anderson is good you have to admit we need to protect ourselves there. While Terrero seems to be a free-swinger (K:BB isn't good) and a head-case, he was once considered a 5-tool top prospect and if we can ressurect his career he could be a guy to look at combined with Owens and Sweeney.
