SI1020
Haugan Elementary School, Albany Park Chicago June 1964. It was a great day for me and I hope yours was a great day for you. Congrats. Don't forget to graduate from high school too, and then college or technical school. Make lots of dough and save as much as you can. The economy always has its ups and downs. cwsox
Fellow Sox fans, yesterday, I officialy graduated from 8th grade! I am now on summer break and planning to spend a lot more time on the boards! technially you did not graduate - graduation is not a thing you can do to yourself - you were graduated - and congratulations! I did not realize you were that young either by your posts - SI1020, you date yourself - 1964 indeed - of course mine was 1965 - my father is moving and lo and behold he still has his ribbons from like 1940 - and I thought they were mine, same colors - have no idea where my ribbons are, probably long gone, but I rememeber thinking I was cock of the roost when I got them - I'll bet a lot of folks have no idea what ribbons are now, I am sure they don't do that anymore - it was the hotest thing to have them though, and of course guys wore them on their pants pocket which i realize now was probably very phallic for adolescent males - but what the hell. Gotta get some NBA/Sox jerseys, Cubs Suck shirts/Sosa Cork Shirts, and Video Games! Thanx everyone! Hey CWSox, why you always gotta correct me! WTF! P.S.- Yes, they still do ribbons. We get them pinned before graduation. On the left side of the gown. And yes, people wear them on the pants pocket. Your not THAT old! And yes, people wear them on the pants pocket. Your not THAT old! we used to get 2 sets - one to wear a few weeks before garduation for which you had to have no check marks on your report card for talking in class or casuing trouble or s***, that was the one we strutted with, and then for actual graduation since everyone's ribbons were autographed and shredded after a couple of weeks so, what High School will you be in? thank you for your last comment! SI1020
I still have my blue and white ribbons. I have absolutely no sentimentality or warm feelings toward the high school and two colleges I graduated from. I still get misty eyed when thinking about Haugan and our graduating class. zach23
Congrats. I am still trying to graduate from Clown College, but I keep failing the clown car final exam. I have shamed my family, since most graduated as top Bozo in the past. My future looks dim and I may turn out to only be a rodeo clown assitant or street mime. I will be attending Gwendolyn Brooks College Preperatory Academy in Pullman, IL. Also, it ironic that the ACTUAL person (Gwendolyn Brooks, the famous writer) attended the college that my big sister graduated from (Western Illinois University) Wierd!
