But at first it didn't take so well... because the Chicks had just released a single "Travellin Soldier" which was - believe it or not - received some of the best audience preference test results in Country radio history. The CMA's or whatever the name of the awards show is shortly after was the breaking point for a lot of the people who choose the music that the radio stations play - sort of because they felt the DC were looking down on the rest of the establishment.
