Rex Hudler
Jose (Mr. K) Hernandez to Cubs for Belhorn. Jose's 2nd tour with the north siders.... interesting.
Jim Fainter
Hernandez is in a big time slump and had been benched in favor of Jose Uribe, who will turn out to be a terrific shortstop. The Denver report tonight said that the Cubs initiated the trade talks for Hernandez. That was a direct quote from Manager Clint Hurdle. He'll fill in at 3B and provide depth for them if they trade for Mike Lowell.
Bmr31
I like the cubs in this deal.

Harry Chappas
Did I read correct that he has struck out 95 times this year? If this was not a misprint, that adds gasoline to the cub offensive woes. They also gave up the same type of guy.

Sosa and Hernandez could break that record alone
southsider2k5
Wow talk about trading some K's. Tough call on this one, but I believe it takes the Cubs out of the Mike Lowell sweepstakes.
Texsox
Who are these Cubs?
upnorthsox
Never could understand why strikeouts are such a big deal with some people, was it really better that CLee GIDP 3 times yesterday instead of K'ing 3 times? The problem with Hernandez is not that he has 95 K's, it's that he's hitting .186 with RISP.

I don't think so at all. Jose provides the Cubs insurance in case they can't get Lowell and depth if they do.
AssHatSoxFan
hate to ruin the sCrUBS WS plans but they are not going to get Lowell now after the year he is having they would have offer a lot more to get him so now they get another K master who swings as much as Sosa
Rex Hudler
If the Cubs really want Lowell, they'll get him. They have more than enough talent to get him. It is just a matter of whether they are willing to pay the price.
Soxplosion
Great. Jose was on my fantasy team and the only reason he was any good was that he played in Coors. Well, thats that...
SoxFan1
I havent been watching lately. This is an official trade? If so, the Rockies DEFINITELY win. Hernandez is gonna K 225 times this year and Bellhorn needed a change of scenery. Coors will help him out a lot. Only the sCrUBS!
Chisoxfn
Jose (Mr. K) Hernandez to Cubs for Belhorn. Very interesting. Pretty fair trade, imo.
