Gregory Pratt
http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/20...ras-cover_x.htm It's a good article on Boras. I'm not sure if he comes off looking good or bad.

witesoxfan
I'm honestly not sure how much more unnecessary slurping I can handle. "I'm making sure teams understand that whoever hires Barry likely will have the only active player under the age of 30 who has a chance to win 300 games," says Boras..."He will be baseball's next great ace. O RLY?! Barry Zito, 29 - 102 wins Mark Buehrle, 28 - 97 wins They're both looking at a crapshoot.
Drew
Well, at least he treats his employees well. Of course they probably spend their noon hours locked in a closet whimpering and snorting crystal meth from the stress of working for Satan. southsider2k5
My favorite part was the insinutation that Alex Rodriguez will hit over 1000 homers according to their projections... Damn, and I thought we were the only ones who lived baseball on the Playstations...
HuskyCaucasian
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) My favorite part was the insinutation that Alex Rodriguez will hit over 1000 homers according to their projections... Damn, and I thought we were the only ones who lived baseball on the Playstations... Over the last 9 seasons, ARod is averaging 44.44 HR per season. Assuming he keeps up that pace until he is 40,/41 (the 2016 season), he would have 908 homers. So, maybe its possible, but he would absolutely have to have NO drop off in ability until he hits 44. And if he is still playing at his current level when he is 44, he could play until he is 50 with depreciation of talent factored it. HIGHLY unlikely. I should also note: He is on pace to have 3906 career hits by age 41, which would place him 3rd all time behind Rose and Cobb. Soxbadger
Zito and MB have very little chance at realistically getting 300 wins. 20 wins per season for 10 more years? They have already played some of their peak years and were not getting 20 wins.

Pedro deserved it on the pitcher's merits. Zito on wins. Bah!

When you sell a product, you generally do not concede that it will wear down at some point.

They have already played some of their peak years and were not getting 20 wins. Or 17 wins per over the next 12 for Buehrle. Or 14.5 wins per over the next 14. It's possible. Not likely at all, but possible all the same. Zito's looking at 18 a year till he's 40, or 15.2 till he's 42. If either one of them have 3 years at any point within the next 12 where they win anywhere from 22-25 games in a season, they are in the clear to tank for a year. Also, there's not much really stopping either one of them from pitching until they're about 44. If they want 300 badly enough, and they stay healthy enough, they can probably get there.
