Plenty of snow up here in the NW burbs

Schools are cancelled out here in Harvard. There is a pretty decent amount on the ground. Just waiting for my wife to get home so I can battle the roads. Why couldn't this have waited about 24 hours? Damn nature.

Damn, it's 38 degrees here, after being in the 80s yesterday  and I'm heading to Galveston where it will be even colder. I'd rather be heading south, but with all the Inaugural fun, I think I'll stay stateside for a while.

Wow you guys have snow days?

Apparently so. I was sleeping about five minuts ago, and the kid next to me is blasting "Let it Snow". Figured something was up, and then the people running up and down our floor yelling "Snow Day!" sealed it.

Beautiful. Can't remember the last time I had one of these.

I had already taken today off for my daughter's parent/teacher conference, and I just got back inside from the first shoveling session of the day.

What fun it is.....

Screw that, I'm waiting until noon-ish. Then I am calling Larry and asking for his snowblower. He braved it and went to work. Seriously, I mainly stayed home due to not having anything to do there and also the wife worked 16 hours last night. I was running late for work due to waiting for her to get home. So, add these together:

Crappy weather

Nothing to do at work

Kid home from school

Wife worked 16 hours and needs sleep

Issue 2 needs work

Makes sense to stay home.

I agree 100%.

I had to shovel, though, because of the conference and because Larry lives too far away from me.

:D
