Buehrle>Wood
Zito should be getting about 100 mil a year based on this.
Dick Allen
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Zito should be getting about 100 mil a year based on this. Zito supposedly is going to get $17 million a year for 5 or 6 years.
Balta1701
Why oh why would you want to be first out of the gate in signing a contract with a pitcher? Chris Carpenter will earn $2 million a year more than Vicente Padilla. God young pitching is so useful. Soxman72
Just when I thought the Rangers were going to stop making dumb moves. This current market makes me sick and I am going to enjoy watching some of these teams regret spending this kind of money. The name Russ Ortiz comes to mind instantly. RockRaines
Man, remember when Garland's extension was considered to be overpaying?
Soxman72
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 01:25 PM) Man, remember when Garland's extension was considered to be overpaying? Garland had a lot of upside at the time of the extension. Padilla was almost a non-tender player by the Phillies last year. Look at the Carpenter deal in this market and compare him to Padilla. Carpenter only worth 2 million more a year than Padilla?
