Milkman delivers
Well, this offseason again sucks. Danks or Floyd will be in our rotation this year. Ozzie's personal bias against McCarthy clearly had a part in this...because there's not much other reason to trade a quality young pitcher. Hello, 3rd or 4th place in the AL Central. spiderman
Wow! I have to say that I'm shocked. McCarthy was ready to step into the rotation, and while I know those pitchers they got back may be ready to pitch in the majors, and have good upside as well....what does this mean for next season ? Are we taking a step back, still a good team though, to hopefully watching all these young pitchers develop into big time players in the future. What is the rotation next season with all these changes and where does Mark Buerhle fit ? Is he going to be moved before long ?
Milkman delivers
Honestly, does anyone see us making the playoffs with Floyd or Danks in the rotation? Don't get me wrong, I like having Danks. The guy's supposed to be amazing one day, but this is going to cost us in 2007.
SnB
I don't get this trade at all. This team is way too good to be stocking up on prospects and taking away from a possible world championship team. It's like we're almost rebuilding, except we're really good. spiderman
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 01:29 PM) Honestly, does anyone see us making the playoffs with Floyd or Danks in the rotation? Don't get me wrong, I like having Danks. The guy's supposed to be amazing one day, but this is going to cost us in 2007. That's kind of how I feel. I'm sure the White Sox wouldn't have made this trade if they weren't convinced these guys are going to be potentially top of the rotation starters, but we've moved Garcia and McCarthy now, and I don't think Mark Burehle is going to be here much longer either. I think with the current team, we're going to be in the race, but the more young pitchers we count on for next season, the less chance we have of being a playoff contender. IlliniKrush
Are you f***ing kidding me? What the hell is this team doing? God damn it.
Milkman delivers
I think I see the logic here. We're "good enough" to compete in the toughest division in baseball (so we'll still draw fans), but we're clearly not good enough anymore to actually make the playoffs/make a run at the WS again. Whitewashed in '05
I will be so f***ing pissed at KW if this becomes official. I don't care how good these guys are SUPPOSED to be. Bmac IS good.

sircaffey
Good. Run this team backwards. We might as well ship Buehrle to New York. "Bring the bulldozers in. Turn this place into a parking lot."
Milkman delivers
Two days ago I would've been happy with just getting another reliever and a back-up CFer, and now this offseason has gone to complete s***. It's almost funny...almost.

Milkman delivers
I can't believe the boards aren't lit up yet. I know we just got the news 10 minutes ago, but usually something like this gets around in 5.
ShoeLessRob
I've got to say if this deal is final, then jebus christ. We'll have a rotation of Jose, Mark, Garland, Javy, ...???? Then it's back to all the years before '05 where we bring in journeymen or give Floyd, Danks or any other minor leaguer a shot?
