Jordan's Divorce!

IIRC, it was Norm Van Lier that first hinted at it publically. There were also multiple newspaper columnists that hinted at the same thing.

This is from some dude named Mark Whicker. He wrote for the Orange County Register at the time.

I understand it was talked about, as I said.

Those boys however were never linked in that way.

I am just going to be a devil's advocate FOR Jordan for a second.

[Disclaimer: I do not condone his cheating ways at all, but I think there are too many sides to professional athletes story to just say, He's a cheater, end of story.]

Many athletes marry young, I believe, and have heard this from other high school and college athletes I have met over the years, because these are women they trust. Or at least THINK they can trust. They knew them before they ever had money (if they, in fact do go on to the pros). So, they knew them when they had nothing, and therefore, aren't golddiggers.

Then, once that athlete gets to the pros, between the young ages of 18 and 22, and they have women throwing themselves at them, groupies, so to speak, what do you expect? Shoot, I was a barrel of raging hormones in my college years and early 20's. Again, not to condone it, but after years of that, I expect someone to have a breakdown and give in at least once. And once you get stuck on that slippery slope, I can't imagine it would be easy to stop.

To say, "I wouldn't get married until after I was retired" is assuming a lot more maturity than most of these people have. And we are looking at it from outside the situation. Maybe, they had an agreement? Perhaps she was cheating just as much. CAn you see guys bragging in a bar saying, "Dude, I totally banged Jordan's wife." I sure can. I'm just saying, there are many sides to this story. For a time, he was arguably, the most famous, most recognizable person on the planet. If our leaders can't stay away from the 'tang, I don't know how you expect sports stars or actors or anyone with any fame to stay away.

And yes, I have seen Jordan cheating first hand at the old Drink on Fulton. And I was disgusted. But I did understand why.

No devil's advocate at all. Seeing his kids and how they act I have no doubt she knew exactly what was up, and stayed for those 3 reasons and no other. 5 years ago MJ was crying his eyes out begging her to stay so he could remain in his kids lives full time. She wasn't a fool, she was a mother. But it's cute how he's the dickhead cheater yet she gets called stupid.

:rolleyes

I love you, Steff! :notworthy

Ahh, it's just a bull**** excuse.

Your typical groupie is dumber than a box of rocks. How he can even hold a conversation with someone like that is beyond me.

I'm envisioning some Beavis & Butthead type conversations.

I'm imagining there aren't a lot of conversations.

I guess my biggest surprise is (like it was mentioned) that it took so long.

They don't just nod at each other and then head up to the hotel room, lol.

You have to be able to hold a conversation with a complete and utter moron just so you can get your two minutes of pleasure, give or take half a minute. :D

I met her once when she brought one of the boys into the ER that my wife worked at. Two things I remember, she brought her son in by herself, without an entourage or nanny, and she was the nicest person to everyone. He may be a world famous athlete, but he's as human as anyone else here. He can keep it in his pants like a decent human being.
